Comments : The interview was really efficient. They did not ask for anything additional from us as we sent everything with our case. They just confirmed the paperwork information and asked about how long we have known each other, when we met and if our families met (had not because of Covid.) They did re-ask the questions in the interview that were at the end of the I-29F application on immigration. After the interview, we were informed we were approved and should receive the Green Card in about 2 weeks.

Event Description
Review Date : January 26, 2021
Embassy Review : The interview was efficient and smooth. I would recommend arriving 30 minutes early to get into line. You will go through checkpoints (Like you do at the airport) and then check-in. We arrived at 7:45 am, got in line, after we went through security and checked in, it was 8:10 am. They finally called our number about 8:45 am and we left about 9:00 am. Took about an hour of waiting to actually have the interview, but the interview took about 10 to 15 minutes.
Harassment Level : Very Good

Update: 01/24/2019 We submitted our I-29F on 08/15/2018. We received our NOA-1 08/20/2018. We received an RFE dated 01/17/2019 and sent it back certified mail 01/23/2019.

Tip: I was originally using the old website to check the status of our case. I continued to follow timelines of other fellow petitioners who talked about an old and new website. I searched and found the new website (which is accurate and updated oppose to the old website, for our case anyway.) For the first few days after creating an account on the new website, It would not let me add my case, after 2 days of logging in to try, I was able to add our case. / OLD WEBSITE https://www.uscis.gov/ / NEW WEBSITE https://myaccount.uscis.dhs.gov/

Hi may i ask you what was the RFE about that uscis requested from guys. Thanks
Kamorable on 2019-01-28 said:
Hello Samfar92, The RFE was because I did not send the correct type of passport photos. I submitted it on printer paper and they needed his photo on "photo quality" paper.

Ohk I hope you receive your NOA2 soon 🙂

Update: 01/30/2019 - Our RFE response was received by USCIS on 01/29/2019 and the new website was updated stating they will continue working on our case and will notify us if they need anything additional.

Update: 03/01/2019 - Our case was submitted for denial 02/05/2019. I found this information out incorrectly (due to lack of training in Tier 1 customer service) and since the decision was not finalized they would not explain why a letter has not been created denying the case (which I hope means there is hope) and they could not tell me when I would receive an update. This has been a nerve-wracking experience and I just wish we would be approved.

Update: 03/19/2019 - Our case was officially denied. Not sure why, waiting for the denial letter to figure out our next plan of action. Best of luck to all others in this process.
Samfar 92 on 2019-03-20 said:
Did you try to contact USCIS And asked them the reason why they denied your case?
Kamorable on 2019-03-20 said:
Samfar92, The email indicates the letter will be an indication of what happened. We are upset but planning to visit one another next month then reapply with stronger evidence and know how (as it will be the second time around) It is devastating waiting 7 months for the denial but seeing one another next month is now our excitement and we kind of know what to expect this waiting process. Thank you for your helpful advice, I appreciate the kindness.

Yeah I know it's stressfull process itself and if you are getting denied or delayed, so it's painfull I understand, any way, I am happy that you guys are planing to visit eachothers. I am also originally from Afg, so thats why felt sad and wanted to know the reason 🙁 wish you both the best in future...
Samfar 92 on 2019-04-03 said:
Did you reapply?
Kamorable on 2019-04-03 said:
Samfar92, Not yet. We are making a stronger case and then we will re-apply in May. (We are meeting in early May)

Thats good, my best wishes are with you, 🙂

Update 05/15/2019: Hello All! We just reapplied after our weeklong vacation in Dubai! We are re-applying with stronger evidence and hopefully less errors than the first petition! Just an FYI there is a few updates when applying, the forms changed and now they accept a debit card for your application instead of sending in a moneyorder. The application also required a form from the department of state website for entry and exit information from the U.S. and I wanted to let anyone reading be aware of these changes as I almost submitted incorrect items. (AGAIN)

I am sure all will go well this time. It seems that CSC processing time is quicker than last year.

I got an RFE :( waiting for the letter to see what caused it, and hopefully resolve it. We met all the criteria and I triple-checked the documents and my fiance checked them also. We are stunned but waiting for an update.

Hopefully, it is a smooth process. I did not answer a question on the Form about criminal record(s) and we both have no criminal history. I answered the question as they requested and sent it back. *Fingers crossed*

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
