Ok thanks, have you got the actual letter from the consulate?

You should’ve received an email from NVC with an attachment letter when you were notified. That should suffice the requirement. Another alternative is a screenshot of “in transit” status - I heard from many that this worked before. NVC is pretty slow mailing the hard copy. So I wouldn’t recommend waiting.

The good news is SLEC is first come, first served basis. You can show up at anytime during business hours with required documents - SLEC online registration confirmation, interview appointment confirmation, letter with MNL case number  (or alternative), 3 passport photos.

Unrelated, but since you are so helpful here, I thought I'd ask.   I was under impression that you needed the NVC number to start the DS160.  I keep reading here that I can go ahead and do that with the USCIS (WA..) number?  Can you confirm

You can use WAC or case number or leave it blank. It really makes no difference as you could even leave it blank and it wouldn't make a difference. For now use the WAC number.

Hi @Greenbaum,

We received our case number today November 13 and invoice number. I've read a few next steps on here but not sure how to proceed

My fiancee lives in Lagos Nigeria. Do we need to wait for the letter to arrive or can we proceed with scheduling the interview and medical with the case number we received via phone today?

I look forward to your response,

Wet signatures are no longer required for I-134 for your Nigeria interview. You are able to send in scanned documents. I signed, scanned and emailed mine to my fiancé to print and it was accepted.

Scheduling the interview can take 1 to 3 months. Once you pay the 95,400 naira ($265) visa fee in a GTB Bank, you can go online to schedule an appointment at www.ustraveldocs.com You can get the forms online at http://nigeria.usembassy.gov/immigrant_visa_forms.html No need to go to the consulate to pick up forms. Download forms if unexpired or get current versions of same forms. Email LagosIV@state.gov for your interview date.

I think you meant I-134 not the I-130 which is the form that married couples file for a CR-1 file. Quite the opposite of the I-129f.

BTW, I don't have a P3 from Jakarta Embassy. Do you have a copy that you can scan to a PDF and send it to me in a PM here on VJ? I would appreciate it. I don't have one so I can't help anyone from that Embassy. Thanks.

Yes that's what I meant. In the end always check with specific embassy. @Greenbaum, I booked the interview without waiting for P3 after the case was ready and they gave me the date. They usually send it by email. The latest one I got is from a couple months ago which I'm sure it's no different from what you shared here.

Thats their standard answer.   They told me yesterday it would take 6 weeks to get my case number, but today they said the case number was assigned.  Was received at NVC either 5th Nov or 8th Nov
