The interview was only 4 questions. Name, how we met, language we speak and date of last trip. They didn't ask for any of the financial documents even though we had them.

An update and also a question: @Greenbaum

1. I did finally receive an e-mail from the NVC in response to my second online inquiry. It informed me that they had finished processing the visa (32 days after NOA2 date) and had forwarded the case to the Singapore Embassy.

conclusion: after all that, the e-mail method did work, and maybe because I specifically requested my case number and invoice ID, they also sent it to me.

So that was a victory, and I didn't have to spend any time on the phone. 🙂 You just need nerves of steel.... 😉

2. I am updating my timeline so that others can see our timing and benefit from it, as I have so many times from others who filled out their timelines. The NVC told me the date that my case *left* the NVC, but not when it *arrived*.

For the sake of completeness of my timeline, how do you all find out when your petition *arrived* to the NVC.

Thanks and love!

Haney & Duane

Just an update here FWIW --- I figured out how to determine when the NVC assigned my case number without having to call...

https://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/NVC_Process

Just scroll down to the part "How to Find Out WHEN Your Case Number was Assigned" about a third of the way down.

So I was able to determine that my case was received on October 1st and update my timeline, also because the NVC had written me on the 29th of Sept. and said they did not receive my petition yet, and the 29th was a Saturday, I surmised that they assigned the number the same day they received the petition (I think this is a reasonable assumption), and this was the first day of the following week: October 1st.

So again, FWIW, the circle has been closed. 😉

Hope everyone is moving forward with their processes, updating their timelines for those to come, and just basically being the awesome people you are! :jest:

Hello everyone. Needed some advice.

I am the petitioner (Kely) and i am using a joint sponser for the affidivate support. The joint sponser is the beneficary's (Jose) uncle. And the joint sponser wants to email directly all the supporting documents to the us embassy in nicaragua. The joint sponser doesnt want us to see his personal information but is willing to help us with the affidivat support. I have emailed the us embassy in nicaragua about being able to email supporting documents. But they dont seem to answer my question. What should i do now?

Has anyone else gone through this problem? 😓

You can start the process there in the Philippines now that you have your case number. You do not have to wait for the case to be set to ready at USEM. Everything is contained in the links below.

Many of our answers are predicated on the information you supply in your profile. When we look at the left column and can't determine your timeline or your Embassy it's hard for us to give you a factual answer. If you look at the profile of others here, they have a flag for their country, so it makes it easy for us to reply as we can quickly determine your Embassy. Our answers will sometimes be tailored to a specific Embassy hence the reason for you to complete your profile.

So, if you could help yourself out and complete your profile that sure would help us out when we want to reply to your question with factual information.

Go to the top right of this page select your name (it's on the upper right-hand corner)>my profile>[below your picture on the right column] edit my profile. Scroll to the bottom and fill in "Immigration Info". There now we can better serve you.

Thanks

Once you receive your case number it's time to be in charge of what time you choose when things get done. To smooth that trail for you I have a few things that will help you process your visa there in the Philippines.

Start by visiting Hanks site where he has taken the time and research, and of course, it helps if you spent 8 plus years helping folks in the Philippines sub-forum get their visas, where he has listed each step. With those steps, he includes the what, when and why to complete the item. Many have used the website and have had little or NO problems securing a visa from USEM.

http://www.visaconnection-philippines.com/k-1-visa-application.html

Next, you'll want to connect with those who are processing through the Philippines in the VJ Philippines sub-forum that way you will be with like-minded ppl who are sharing their experiences and also asking and answering questions. Since most in this thread is processing through another country they would be hard-pressed to explain what is needed for the Philippines.

http://www.visajourney.com/forums/forum/129-philippines/

You'll find this on Hank's website but I will give it to you early and that is the Packet 3 Letter for USEM. It's found here:

https://ph.usembassy.gov/visas/immigrant-visas/fiancee-visa/the-interview/

Here is the Packet 3 letter.

https://ph.usembassy.gov/wp-content/uploads/sites/82/2016/08/K1-and-K2-Applicant-Interview-Preparation-Instructions-08112016-English-336KB.pdf

There you have it. Everything you need to get your visa. Good luck and smooth sailing.

There isn't a way to offer something like this to the Embassy that is separate from you handing it to the CO during your interview. Embassy's want less interaction and responsibility so they don't get bogged down in handling things second hand.

So a suggestion. Explain this problem you are experiencing with the Embassy and offer that if he were to complete the documents and hand them over in a sealed envelope that you would take the utmost care in guarding his information. That you would hand it to the CO unopened and in the event that it is not asked for then you would return it to him in the same condition. Or, you could can have your interview, if you need a co-sponsor and for this reason you can't submit the documents then the CO will issue a 221(g) for the cosponsor. Once you receive the letter then work along side your Uncle so that he sees that is information is being handled properly. It might be as simple as putting it in an envelope and sealed under his watchful eyes to be returned back to the Embassy.

But, let's visit whether you are above the poverty line or not. If so then you do not need a co-sponsor.

Hi! I have a couple questions about I-134

1) Dependents' information. The following persons are dependent upon me for support. (Page 3 question 10a, 10b, 10c, 11, 12, 13)

Is this the dependent person the fiancé or any other person that is dependent right now like kids....?

2) I have submitted a visa petition to U.S Citizenship and Immigration Services on behalf of the following persons (Page 4 question 26a, 26b, 26c, 27, 28 and 29)

I submitted a visa petition for my actual fiancé so should I put his names ? Or does this mean to previous visa petitions?

3) I __ intend ___ do not intend to make specific contributions to the support of the person's named in Part 2 (Page 4 question 38)

What should I select here ? And if I select "I intend" should I explain in the additional information that I intend to make any and all contributions needed for as long as         needed?

Thank you so much
