Consulate Review: Nicaragua
Review Topic: K1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : December 17, 2018
Embassy Review : My overall review is great.
I am the petitioner

Arrived 1/2 hour earlier 1:00pm waited outside in line with my fiance until 1:15pm when a lady arrived outside and checked if each person was on the list. Unfortunately we weren't on the list as well as another lady applying for k1 visa. So we waited outside until she checked inside. She said okay everything is fine now please open your sealed medical exams. What entered and went to security check. My fiance and I didn't bring anything expect the documents necesary for the interview. So the security check was very quick. Next we arrived at the waiting room where a lady organized all our documents in order and next went through another security check where we finally arrived to the waiting room for the visas. We waited till 2:55pm when we finally got called to window 2. A lady asked for all our documents and returned our documents that we sent to the California Center. She asked my fiance for his address and if he ever lived in another country. She said that maybe my affidavit of support of my co sponsor would need my co sponsor's wife to fill out the form too. BUT she said that would depend on the officer that interviews. She handed my fiance a document about abuse a all the rights he has as an immigrant. We waited again seated until 3:15pm to be called to window 5 and finally had out interview. The officer was SO kind to us. Asked about how we meet. My fiance told the story
Laughed how we went on Halloween and that i feel in love with a zombie. Then he asked me about what I plan on doing as a job when I move back to NJ. where we plan on living and if we have to pay rent. About my co sponsor. And finally asked my fiance how he plans on seeing his life in 5 years. He saw our pictures took some notes in the computer than said okay I have everything I need now I need you to give is patience on this because the papers have to go through an administrative process and we'll let you know what happens.

Had my interview on Thursday December 13 2018.
Today is Sunday December 16 and waiting for my answer.

Had a good experience at the us embassy.

Ps: make sure you bring all documents and in original and copies.
Rating : Very Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
