It's a lot better plan than taking a cargo ship to Manilla.

You asked this same question 16 hours ago. You should read through those responses, because not much is going to change.

That said I am am sorry you are afraid to fly, but you need to meet in order to apply for K1. She can apply for a visitor visa, but she alone has to show strong ties to the country. And make sure she is honest in saying she wants to visit her boyfriend. If she lies, it will cause problems down the road.

How hard would it be for her to visit Canada? She doesn't have the greateat income. I would be paying for all her financial needs. That wouldn't work woth coming to america?

Probably would not work going to Canada either, all she can do is try.

So I spoke with my girlfriends close friend(who was born in philippines amd now lives amd works in america) who lives in the states. She is going to work with my girlfriend to get a b2. If it works i will meet her here in america. I am confused as why her friend said even if we meet here I still have to travel to philippines for whatever reason? That is incorrect according to my research?

All that matters if we meet somewhere in the world as a couple? Correct?

I'm not sure what she thinks she can do to help your girlfriend with a tourist visa...?

No, you don't need to meet in PI for anything. The requirement for a K-1 - if you get engaged later - is to meet in person at least once within the past 2 years. That said, it certainly doesn't hurt to see her current lifestyle and meet her family, and I would absolutely encourage it. The culture shock alone is huge, and without knowing where somebody case from and how they live, it becomes difficult to understand the source of their views and actions.

Hi,

I saw some posts giving you suggestions on driving to either Canada or Mexico. I think it is the best alternative option for you to meet in person with your GF if you are afraid to fly. You can drive to Canada from here in Boston. From here to Mexico, you can also drive for 3-4 days road trip.

Regarding Visitor's visa from PI vs. K1 visa, I believe K1 visa is much easier to get compared to Visitor's visa that's why others are suggesting it also to you. My husband and I thought about me having a visitor's visa at first, but after several types of research, the faster route is K1 visa and has fewer denials. But then again, if your GF can prove stronger ties to PI then go for it.

Regards.

going by ship does not mean flying i drove the 12 hours to Miami to take a ship

and there are taxis and buses to take even in poor countries

BTW it is almost guaraernteed that a CO at POE would ask her who she is visiting in US and follow thru with who is that person to you / soon as she admits bf (if she did get a visa which is unlikely) she would be turned away

you are going to have to go see her

you can try you way to get visa for her but u are  losing a lot of time

Why would he still have to fly at some time?

Boats can go toward the US just as easily as they can go toward the Phillipines.

Would take a hell of a long time though

August 2000: We start e-mailing. I'm in Bosnia, she's in Florida

October 29th 2000: She sends me e-mail asking if I would marry her

October 29th 2000(5 seconds later): I say yes

November 2000: She sends me tickets to Orlando for when I get back

December 6th 2000: Return from Bos

December 11th 2000: Fly to Orlando, she meets me at airport

December 22nd 2000: I fly back to UK

January 3rd 2001: She flies to UK (Good times)

Mid February 2001: Pregnancy test Positive

Mid February 2001: She flies back to US

March 2001: Miscarriage, I fly to US on first flight I can get

May 2001: I leave US before my 90 days are up

June 2001: I fly back to US, stopped at airport for questioning as I had only just left

September 2001: Pregnancy test Positive again

September 2001: She falls sick, I make decision to stay to look after her as I am afraid I may have problems getting back in.

April 16th 2002: Our son is born, we start getting stuff together for his passport

March 6th 2003: We leave US for UK as family

Early April 2003: Family troubles make her return to US, I ask Embassy in London about possibilities of returning to US

April 16th 2003: London Embassy informs me that I will be banned from the Visa Waiver Program for 10 years, my little boys first birthday

June 13th 2006: I-129f sent

August 11th 2006: NOA1 Recieved

After our relationship breaks down she admits to me that she had never bothered to start the application process
