After waiting for so long... we got an RFE. Does anyone have any idea how long it will take to receive it in the mail if it was sent today? How much longer it will be before an approval after sending additional evidence? How I  can find out what it is so I can mail it in as soon as I get the letter?

If you made copies of what you sent you can look them over to see what could be missing but from time to time they ask for stuff that was send in the first place so it's best to wait. RFE don't normally add much time maybe less than a month

trying to read tea leaves here but I did a scan, the case before mine "rfe" then my case " case received" then the next case "rfe" so I'm thinking they looked at mine , didn't rfe it (I used a lawyer) and they are probably going through mine now then maybe approve it?

I would call USCIS and get to customer service (choose option for there is problem with your case), ask them to clarify status and vague letter you received... they will offer to transfer you to Tier 2 agent who should confirm what this is and what to do next. They just confirmed mine is an RFE but still waiting for the damn mail lady to arrive!!!

what was the rfe for ? if you dont mind asking ? is it something very picky or in general

Could you do translations of just letters between you and your significant other yourself?

Thank God we got letter from USCIS already for our NOA2. So this means that we can try calling NVC 8-10 business days from today? And in this case the petitioner will still be receiving notification from NVC or ONLY the beneficiary? Again thank you so much this forum really helps us to have peace of mind. You can count from the online update date or the date written on your noa2.

Yes you can. You just need to write at the end a statement that"who translated when and a sentence explaining the person is capable of understanding and translating these languages"

So So happy today. It seemed like forever. As everyone here knows so well the waiting takes a toll.

NOA2:  02/13/2018

 

The letter was postmarked the 15th. Just received it today in the mail. I did get advanced notice on my informed delivery email this morning but USCIS still shows received.
