Not thinking about it. I still like to travel. Was just thinking if I meet someone 5,10 years from now how it would affect it. Happy that I'm the butt of your jokes. U found a good one, I didn't, so u r content and can past judgment, but you never know. u could be in the same boat someday. Anyway thanks.

Honestly, there are more pressing issues at hand. I know people like and seek companionship (unlike her very strange accusation about it), but right now you need to clear this hurdle.

I'm not passing judgement and it was not meant as a joke. That's how I felt after my divorce settlement long ago. It took quite a few years to recoup financially.

Yeah, I don't think you will get hurt financially over this scammer. Make sure you get a good aggressive lawyer that will fight and not roll over.

Late maybe but what worked for me...

My wife did alot of the same things as the OP.

Maybe this will help someone else.

I completely started giving her everything she wanted. I agreed with her she was always right. I convinced her to move out of my house by getting us a nice apartment, and then I rented out my house.

After a couple months of me being her slave we get along. She still tells me how worthless I am, and how wrong I am once a week. It is an evil I have only experienced once in my life. This is something she calls discipline. She is now homesick and we are going back to the Philippines soon.

I have not decided yet if she will be on the plane alone. If i go with her I can be sure she got on the plane. Once in the Philippines she loses all her power, and I can return home then file for divorce.

You do realize that your wife can also return (as long as she gets the money for the airfare from somewhere) and can also do ROC with a divorce waiver, right?

Yes i understand she can return. I just dont want to be on the hook for her. I never sent in her papers after we were married to adjust her status.

I am curious though since you brought it up. If she were to adjust status on her own would she still pay the fees associated with that?

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).
