I guess it depends on how you plan to answer if you are questioned about drug use

Most likely not tested but if you plan on answer truthfully then why stop?

Or before the interview?

Want to know if I should stop smoking weed or not.

Not sure how it works if you're going through consular processing but you have to go through a medical check if adjusting status. The physician would then fill out form I-693 to accompany your application for permanent residency. I would presume it's the same for consular processing.

In the medical form, the physician will have to certify that you do not have any class A or class B medical conditions.

Class A conditions include:

Tuberculosis

Syphilis

Chancroid

Gonorrhea

Granuloma inguinaleExternal Web Site Icon

Lymphogranuloma venereum

Hansen's disease (leprosy)External Web Site Icon

Mental Disorders (with Associated Harmful Behavior)

Substance Abuse

Since you are not allowed to read what the physicians says in the report, it is possible that it could cause a problem for you.

There are also potential issues with/about moral turpitude and such. I would abstain if I were you. And even better, consider quitting. If not, just wait a while. There's plenty of time to smoke after you are a permanent resident.

Good luck.

are you planning on lie-ing on the medical intake form or during the interview with a panel physician prior to an interview at the IV Unit ?

or have you been smoking weed since you got into the usa ?

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

Correct me if I am wrong, but if you (he) is here (adjusting from a K1), then the medical is already done and he won't need another?

If you are still back in AUS, and need a medical then weed is a biggie. You can message me if you want, my husband came over on K1 from Melbourne.
