  1. Hey everyone ~ My fiance has been on AP at the US embassy in Colombo, Sri Lanka since 4 September 2018 and our status on the CEAC site still has not changed from "Ready." We've emailed the embassy once a month and have gotten pretty generic responses. Our latest inquiry yielded this response ... "Our office is waiting for certain clearances to further process your case. We understand your difficulty because of the delay in the processing. The timing for these clearances are generally based on the history of the case. Our office will contact you as soon as your case gets the clearance." My fiance was born in Dubai, UAE and I'm aware that AP usually takes longer if the beneficiary is from a MENA country, so we're not really surprised. Has anyone else's status been stuck on Ready? Also, does anyone else know what the "certain clearances" could be? Any advice appreciated! -Anna
  2. Hi everyone. I've posted a few times about my fiance's K1 Visa case being in Administrative Processing at the US Embassy in Colombo, and unfortunately it's been over 1 year now. He was placed on AP under 221G and no other information was requested, so we assumed background checks, etc. Anyway, I checked the CEAC about 2 weeks ago and noticed that the status had been updated to "Expired." It has been the same since. Since we were put on AP, I checked nearly every day and noticed that we never got "Expiring Soon" or anything like that, and other than vague email responses from the embassy, neither I or my senator's office have not received any meaningful letter, request, or notification at all. I, along with my senator's office, emailed them right after I realized the status change, and neither of us have received any reply or notification of any sort. Calling is pointless because they will only tell me to send an email to the embassy, which we have already done. Is that it? is our petition cancelled? I thought that AP cases were renewed until completed and would not expire, but now we are worried and confused. Might anyone know what's going on or what our next course of action should be? Thank you

  4. Hello all! I was wondering if anyone is in AP or Administrative processing at the moment? Me and my fiance applied for a K1 visa a while ago. After her interview in Poland in 12/2022, they have put her case into AP. It has been around 5 months now and still waiting. Has anyone gone through AP recently? How long has it taken you? Any help or advice you can give please? Thanks!
  5. I'm having my interview next week but the medical examination till the end of month. I saw lot of threads with the same case but I just wanted to know if anyone know how long will it usually take the consulate to return your passport after the 221AP. I saw a lot of people saying that it could take up to 9months... I'm confused since this isn't my fault, all three doctors are fully booked and couldn't get any appt earlier.. Please advise. Thank you FYI: CR1- Casablanca Consulate
  6. Hi all, I wanted to make this group to post updates on everyone's AOS/EAD/AP etc. I'm personally very interested in everyone's work authorization status, if you've already received yours? My timeline is; Feb. 24 2023: AOS/EAD/AP submitted Mar. 03 2023: Rejected (used an old version of form) Mar. 04 2023: AOS Resubmitted Mar. 28 2023: RFE received May 19 2023: response to RFE submitted Waiting since.
  7. Hopefully my question is straightforward—a family member is keeping me up to date on her husband's case, who just received EAD approval (the card should be arriving in a week or so, I suppose) and Advance Parole approval. This is my first time seeing an I-512L Advance Parole form, and when I search the forum a lot of the posts are over ten years old. Am I wrong in thinking that a lot of approved I-131 cases are simply rolled into the "combo card" where the recipient doesn't get a separate Advance Parole document? For what it's worth, checking his cases, the EAD was approved on February 22nd, and the tracking said the card was produced today on February 28th. On the AP side, it says it was approved on February 23rd and produced on the 24th. Is this a case of strange timing where they were considered separately? If the AP had been approved before the EAD, does that mean it would have resulted in a combo card? He is still waiting for the EAD in the mail, but seeing that the AP paper arrived in the mail it seems like there would be no point in USCIS issuing that if they know they were about to issue the EAD a few days later. Also, he has a single copy of the I-512L Advance Parole form and I see old forum posts referencing that there should be two originals. Is there a problem or should there be a single? Finally, if the EAD that arrives in a few days says "Not valid for re-entry to the U.S." at the bottom but he has the just-received AP document, he can take those two items along with his foreign passport to leave the U.S. and then re-enter, right? Does it have to be an emergency or can it be for any reason? Thank you! Edit: Adding here that after googling around I have come to understand that in or around 2022, USCIS started decoupling the work permit and advance parole applications to speed along processing and therefore no longer issue combo cards, which answers all of my questions except if there are supposed to be one or two originals of the Advance Parole document. Leaving this up for reference and hoping someone can let me know if there is indeed only supposed to be one I-512L included in the mailing.
  8. Hi everyone, I had F1 visa unterview on late May 2022 in Yerevan. Due to delay in administrative process I deferred to spring semester starting on Feb 7. I am exhausted, frustrated, broken and feel any negative feeling that comes to your mind. I really appreciate it if you say anything thay could help me. have several problems, I devide them into three parts: 1-I hired lawyer in a group case of five people and the court due is on Jan 27, 2023. Unfortunately, I am the only one remaining from that group and other four students were cleared 27 days after the starting court! Does this have something to do with program starting date? Because mine start in Feb and theirs start in Jan. 2-Why is this taking so long? Do you have any information why a visa processing is taking this much long? Why some people are cleared 70 or 60 days after interview and some, like me, have to wait more than 200 days!!!!!!! (My case had no problem according to the lawyer) 3-Also, I noticed the last case cleared from US embassy in Yerevan was Dec 28, 2022. No one is cleared since new year. Is there a reason for it? Do you know when the embassy might start clearing cases in 2023? Thank you.
  9. Hi guys. I need your help with insights to my case. Long story coming up 😁 I did a F1 student visa interview in March 2022 in Nairobi, Kenya. During the interview, the interviewer asked me maybe 2-3 questions then told me the visa was approved. However, since the program was to start in August 2022, they could not issue the visa more than 120 days before the start of the program. I was asked to leave my passport and check back with them towards the end of April. 1 day later, I got an email with a supplemental questionnaire that in summary asked, in the last 15 years: Where I have travelled to and why? My email addresses, phone numbers & social media handles My Spouse’s & child’s bio data My residential and work history I filled in the questionnaire and replied 2 days later. It’s been over 180 days now and I’m still in AP. They returned my passport after having it for about 2 months. Internet searches pretty much say I have to wait for the AP to be concluded. A brief background…I did my bachelor’s in the states and left after graduation. I’ve been home for about 10 years and I’m now trying to go do a master’s in Computer Science. I have a tourist visa that expires in 2023. I have been to the states twice as a tourist in 2021 and 2019. Both times I was selected for additional screening by CBP but eventually granted entry. I stayed for about 3 months during each visit but never beyond my I-94 duration. A couple of questions: Any ideas on what could have gotten me here? I’ve travelled a lot cause of work within Africa, Middle East & Asia. Could something in my travel be causing the flagging? Any other Kenyans who have gone through AP, how long did it take? Should I have hope for this AP ever being concluded or should I move on with my life and forget about my master’s in the US? Thank you for reading through this and for the responses.
  10. My fiancé and her sister ( which is my brothers fiancé ) we both brothers engaged to 2 sisters , they both had an interview on June 7th 2022 at the embassy in pakistan islamabad because the embassy in Afghanistan no longer in service we had to transfer to case to pakistan , my fiancé passed her interview they both had the interview same day but different person interviewing them my brothers fiancé also passed her interview. So we were told to bring an interpreter from outside it could be anyone relative cousin or friend so for my fiancé her cousin was the interpreter and for my brothers fiancé I was the interpreter, while the interview took place after few questions and seeing the documents The person interviewing stopped and told me I am no longer allowed to translate he asked for my ID card which I had my passport handed it to him and he said to write my name down which I did he went to the back and spoke with someone and came back and said you are no longer able to translate for anyone in this US Embassy on the other hand congratulations you have passed your interview here is this white slip you will hear back within a few weeks to get your passport and visa. my fiancé got her visa within three or four days after the interview but my brothers fiancé the status was application received and now has changed to administrative processing is this normal I mean we were never requested to submit more documents she was told that she passed the interview and is very frustrating the person doing the interview was very rude with me but maybe he was being a jerk and now the process is taking longer I am very worried hopefully this does not take anywhere two months because we are visiting here in Pakistan and it is very difficult what are your views and thoughts regarding this kind of Visa still get rejected even though he said you have passed
