IPDR reacted to JFH in LPR filing for husband
That’s going to take at least 2 years. Plus his AP time (which, for Pakistan, is likely to be longer than average).

A green card isn't for visiting your family every couple of months. It’s for maintaining your permanent residence here.

If you obtained a green card through a prior marriage you have to be an LPR for 5 years before you can petition for your current spouse.

How are you maintaining your Permanent Residency?

When are you coming back to the US?

It was accurate. Nothing gets sugar-coated here. Might not always be what you want to hear. But invariably it’s the truth. The advice for K-1 cases is always to ring-fence the money needed for AOS to avoid exactly this situation.

The next question is whether you make enough to not need a joint sponsor.

I would have loved to have only spent $3000!  When all was said and done with our case, between plane tickets, staying in the DR, fees, etc. I had spent about $32,000.  Having my husband here with our kids and myself, priceless.

If your plan is 5 years out why not have him get citizenship at 3 years and not worry about surrendering green cards?

If you can get by with only spending $3k, it will be a miracle.  Many here have spent ~$10k or more, all told.

So why would he bother going and paying all the fees for medical, interview etc if he knows he will be denied? Doesn’t make much sense.

I’d investigate changing to F3 personally.

Which would still result in a denial of the visa.  Getting married made the OP ineligible.

They do not issue NOID or NOIR's for K1's so not sure how you got that impression.

You mentioned a number of reasons for the K1 expiring, could be one of them, could be a combination of them.

One more thing, @Karry.  I seem to remember that you said there is no current US income.......I see no reason to think that you will avoid having to have a joint sponsor.  I'm sure you WILL need it......

Ok, Let start at a different angle. Why do you think you need a joint sponsor?

The answer to your question is 1 year, by the way.

I would find another willing, qualified joint sponsor and have everything ready at the time of the interview. It sounds like your joint sponsor is hesitant.

My husband and I just had our interview in the Dominican Republic, they did not request for me to be there, but I wanted to be there.  I was allowed in and they did ask me a few basic questions.  I would encourage you to attend the interview.  Good Luck with your Journey!

IPDR reacted to geowrian in K1 denied despite showing assets over 60k for family of 1
This is an incorrect understanding of the calculation. His current income is $0. What he made last year has no impact on current income. What he intends to make this year has no impact on current income.
Assets can be used, although these assets alone were deemed insufficient. The CO makes a decision based upon the totality of the circumstances. They determined it was insufficient. He either needs a job to show sufficient current income or to find a co sponsor.

    A few other notes...
The link you posted is in the AFM. DOS does not use the AFM. They use the FAM instead. The link you posted refers to the I-864. The I-134 is a different form used solely as a guideline for the CO to determine the public charge concern.
To respond to the specific questions:
Many people. By "fight", do you mean argue your case or resolve the issue? If you want to plead your case, good luck...you're not going to find somebody to overrule the decision. You can resolve the issue with a sufficient sponsor. The embassy/consulate will normally hold the petition for up to a year. Keep in contact with them. If you exceed the validity period of the medical, they will require a new medical exam and possibly a new interview. You cannot just get a new interview upon your request, nor would there be any benefit in doing so.
