valentinasc got a reaction from Ed&Midori1031 in Navy PCS duty abroad- can I leave base?
Hello there!
I will tell you what I know based on current experience on a marital relationship: As long as you are married and in his orders he will receive a dependent letter of approval with your name on it and once you arrive to Japan head to PSD to get your SOFA stamp. That stamp is “your visa” it allows you to leave and re-enter Japan whenever, and of course you can leave base lol and even though you are not in the US, because your spouse is serving the country, you as a spouse are “excused” to not reside in the US, as long as you have all of the above^
I’m currently in Japan with my husband and Removed conditions on my GC last June and applying for Citizenship this June. I was stressing too at first whether I needed a re-entry permit or not!
if you have any more questions, feel free to ask :)! x

valentinasc reacted to Lemonslice in How bad is ROC?
It took me a couple of hours, but I kept a shoe box and drop my documents as I got them during my first two years in the US.
I've traveled extensively with the extension letter (I would have to check my passport, but many trips, to about 10 countries, and I never had an issue).
In your shoes, with the pandemic, I would travel sooner, rather than later. If you're certain you will be able to travel after your second wedding anniversary, and you hate paperwork, then maybe consider coming later.

I already got an answer from the military community, it does not apply to us, but thank you for taking the time to answer 😊

Yeah, apparently they did. I am on a fb group and some people blamed USCIS for not filing because they never received a reminder...lol

Good.
Almost every single particle of virus that was carried from country to country was delivered by an airplane.
That should have been the first industry to be shut down.

I just found this out now..GC expires on September this year so I'll go ahead and apply for Naturalization and skip the Remove of Conditions process. We are stationed in Japan too.
What did you send immigration?
orders, dependent letter of approval, sofa stamp? also for the interview, the both of you have to be present?
Lastly, did you send pictures and fingerprints along with petition, how does it work if filling online?
I'm sorry for bombarding you with questions, but I'm just excited that I finally found some good information for us military spouses!

Correct. My statement should be will be overseas for at least one year. However you can file prior to the one year mark of being overseas

Its right there under the 2nd bullet point. If you will be or have been gone for less than 1 year this wont work.

Yes, if you are on the orders with your spouse for being stationed OCONUS then you can file for expedited naturalization.

Anyone here denied after application with their military spouse? How can I explain to uscis that a military marriage is not your average marriage? My husband spends majority of his time away because he’s defending his country. We live away from friends and family most times. Your spouse isn’t away on vacation but they have a duty and a job and they can’t just say no to their orders. Life as a mil spouse is not the regular and I wish they’d be more understanding.

valentinasc got a reaction from DLESPITIA in Which is a better route the CR-VISA or K-1 VISA ?
At the end of the day you have to get married in both visas and even if the K-1 is “faster” it’s actually not that much faster lately. Also if you go with the K-1 route your fiancé will come to the US and wait quite a bit to be able to work and receive GC. But if you go with the CR-1 route it’s 11+ Months wait but at least as soon as your spouse steps into the US he’ll be a resident and will have SS card and GC mailed to your address quite fast
Good luck on your journey, don’t forget to have lots of patience

If you have nothing kind or productive to say, why even post? I think anyone could understand his frustration. It's a long, painful process.

You seem so rushed to bring her here ..take your time, there’s no rush. You’re basically two strangers, give it time and think with your head not heart. Good luck.

valentinasc got a reaction from Ngyeu78 in CR1 Journey.....Success! Now what??
Congrats! I was just in your wife’s shoes last month!
As soon as I got approved my husband paid the Gc fee online and I received my visa packet 2 days after interview.
Flew to the states and I received my SS card in the mail a week and a half later and for the GC it took 21 days after point of entry to get to me :)
Thats it for now but if you have been married for less than 2 years (like in my case) then you need to Remove Conditions 90 days before GC expires and about a year after it file for naturalization
Good luck for now ;)

valentinasc got a reaction from Apple Bee in Documents sent with no evidence. April 20 2018
Either a RFE or NOA2 takes its time so all you’ve got to do is to not worry and keep being patient. If you feel like you’ve messed up then most likely you’ll receive a RFE however be positive and wait to see what USCIS has got to say about your case.
Also, all cases are different and some are touched before others, I got my NOA2 after 7 months, I know it’s stressful not knowing and be left in the dark..but you must keep strong 💪🏼
Good luck on your journey
