My hubby & I are currently on our way home from Chicago. I had my AOS interview few minutes ago. The officer was professional and has a great sense of humor. 😊😃 He asked me basic questions which include my name, address, security questions and asked my hubby how we met. He then, asked if we came with any evidence to show we are living together. We gave him our insurance forms, mails from the schools I applied to, acceptance certificates from the schools, certificates of the programs I completed showing my address, flight tickets and the photo album (71 Pictures). He pointed at one picture and asked where that was (picture we took at the courthouse when we applied for our marriage license). He asked if he can keep some of the pictures, I said yes because I just printed the pictures for the interview and I have over a 1000 on my camera. He kept them saying everything is okay, he has approved us and I will receive my GC in 3 or 4 weeks from today. Everything took about 10 minutes.

Good luck to everyone still in this long process. ❤

I received my GC on wednesday (July 17th).

Random question.. my husband got his medical residency in Florida and I still am staying in California for another six months because I have a great job here. We bought a house together in Florida and have been traveling every other weekend to be with each other. Is this a problem if we get our green card interview and are still in this position? In other words living in California and Florida for work but traveling constantly to be with each other?

    Hi..

I don't see a problem, but the Officer would want to see the proof that you guys stay together every other weekend.  So, you need to start taking pictures and also, flight/bus tickets, restaurant receipts and other evidence to put you two together.

I know I might sound repetitive but they don't want to make this process easier and faster if anything this is the administration's goal to make it as hard as possible. This is part of their anti immigration campaigns. They can't change the laws to stop immigrants from coming without proper congress or senate approval so they are backlogging the system in order to discourage immigration. I won't be surprised if the immigration timeline goes up to 12 months for EAD at some point. If you look at the USCIS historical average times. They have increased so much it is crazy. I am thinking about removal of conditions coming up soon. There is people there pending 22 months+ and there is no local office difference they are all getting processed in the big centers.  By the time I apply and with this backlog it will take me 40 months for removal of conditions.

If so.."up to 22months", USCIS advised you file for Naturalization (Citizenship) because even without the Removal of Conditions, you're still a legal PR.

Mine was ready for interview since July 24th and I already have a date,  so only a day before yours and I am in the 2nd busiest office in the country so hopefully you get a date soon. Goodluck on the job hunt! I have found the best way to get a job here is to network! Meet people, be active on Linkedin. I made friends with my husbands manager 3 months before I got my EAD and when it came through I started work for them the same week. I recently switched to a different job that paid a bit more in a field I want to work in and I got that job through networking too, I am part of a community group here in our area and it just so happened that one of the members is a manager at a big international company and got me a interview, interview went well and I was offered the position. Network, network, network!! I am a whole lot less active on instagram than I used to be but when I do go I always go check your guys profile to see if anything exciting has happened for you two. Keep your head up girl, you got this!

    Hi.. @MarksMate

    I reside in Peoria too.

    How's everything going with you?

    Hello to all !

Good news for us, and hopefully, for you, too.

As I checked the case tracker before going to sleep, I saw that my EAD card is being issued.Hoping for I-485 these days, as well as advanced parole.

Just to give you heads up, stay strong, your day is coming.

    My NOA1 was October 19th.

Your Advanced Parole (AP) comes as part of the EAD. That's why it's called 'Combo-Card'.

    Congrats.
