Derik-Lina reacted to Timona in Failed the Civics test. Now, I wait........and when? what?
You can't just walk back in. They'll reschedule. So, wait.
And FYI, those are 90 business days.

I haven’t seen anyone fail the test but here is the applicable section of their policy manual. I dont think the officer told you to come back. Policy manual Section F indicates they’ll schedule you another appointment.

Fail again and your app is denied.

I must agree with Adil-Rafa and disagree with the rest. Charging more will allow for hiring more and numbers do work.
The more hands on application/Forms (from Application to Vetting to Visa in hand) … This will not work only if the prolonged
waits are purposely put. In addition, and with all due respect, unless one is suffering financial and or emotional hardships due to the long waits and the Unknown, inputs and answers can be subjective. Anyone stuck in the Ap/black hole will pay to reunite with their husband, wife or child. Thanks

Derik-Lina got a reaction from Le212 in Form DS-5535 'SUPPLEMENTAL QUESTIONS FOR VISA APPLICANTS'
Am I the only one to think so? I hope I am right and we reunite with our loved ones soon.
More and more Applicants are receiving Visas in hand after the Ds-5535 after only 40, 60 and 90 days?
Is this a good sign? Some from December have received Visas in hand too, and mostly from Morocco and Pakistan.
Best of Luck to all

Great News Everyone!!!!!!
Someone's CEAC status changed to "Issued" today.
They were on AP/Ds5535 for just over one month…
I hope the Person shares their Experience here.
This could be an indication that something good is brewing

Derik-Lina got a reaction from abdo1 in review submitted docs on ceac to US embassy
Unfortunately, Yes My wife and I are stuck.
We are suffering Financial and Emotional Hardships due to this Unnecessary and Unjustified Form;
Well, let me clarify, Unjust for her, a young innoscent young lady, with nothing more or less than Fashion,
foodie videos or photos of us together on her Fb page. She s never been outside of Morocco nor had the smallest of brushes with the law. She is a fashion designer and make up artist. Very far from fanaticism nor any none sense.
Unjust because young men who spent years in Turkey and Europe illegally, flew right thru the system. While my wife, a 73 year old gray grandmother and a 14 year old boy must wait for over one year in AP due to Form Ds-5535. Where is the justice?
Totally for Extreme Vetting and National Security, but it must be fair and just.
The wait is inhumane and torturous. We would not wish this on the worst of enemies.

Again, the sad part is the fact that this person and the likes fly thru the Visa system;
Just like he almost swindled the USC, he could very possibly get Visa in hand within 3 days after Interview.
Very sad that many USC's don t do their homework like the OP and cut the cord as she says.
Op must be very active here and spread the word although many are blinded by "love".
And Yes. Families do take part in the Scam, as the Beneficiary will become a Mac Machine once here

from what i could see when i visited Morocco
they line up several to talk to
from many different countries
i do believe that is the reason for ds5535 and the part about all email and social media sites and all phone numbers the bene can use

Perhaps, Standford can reach out to the Consulate, Senate or Congress on your behalf.
I would also, recommend you contacting your consulate daily even if they do not answer.
In other words, you must remain proactive, as there is a possibility your Visa is put aside to either die or have you
give up altogether. Read around the net and you will realize that USCIS and DHS officials have clearly stated this Form is nothing
less that a Tactic to slow or stop Visits and Immigration from Certain parts of the world and of Some of certain Faith.
Best of luck and do not give up.

Aware of all that you wrote. Thank you.
Is your husband or Fiancee stuck in AP?
Am I safe to to write you give no Solutions above? Except waiting and maybe for over 18 months?
Thank you very much again and best of luck to you and your loved one.

Derik-Lina reacted to geowrian in Pay Extra!
Those are definitely options, and I've heard of USCIS doing some of that as well (including telework). But that's a drop in the bucket, unfortunately.
The ability to do so with the consulate is likely further limited. But that's speculation on my part....I have no data to actually back that up.
Prioritization is always a big question, and results in delays for some and speedier processes for others. When you have limited resources, you need to figure out where to best use them.
DV doesn't really impact USCIS, and it also has a hard cap (50k) per year, counting derivatives.
I don't know the refugee process well enough to comment on that, other than that made up just over 22k cases last year, and lots of the vetting process are handled by an international group, not the consulates/DOS.
The big thing right now in the news is asylum cases. I would imagine that takes up a large portion of USCIS resources.
As does ROC...IMO, change the law to kill off ROC and free up those workers for more meaningful tasks.

A great way to cut costs and accommodate certain families or people with some needs.

Derik-Lina reacted to Jeanne Adil in Pay Extra!
It would help as they now have the ds5535 which is why his wife is stuck
when they made this form which needs at least a 1 year investigation, they should have prepared with additional workers to do the process of the security checks / a lot of it can be done by computer and paperwork and be looked over by the DHS officer

Derik-Lina reacted to TBoneTX in Pay Extra!
I've heard from reliable sources that USCIS has employed part-time people who work from their homes.
