Although I'm not from the Netherlands, I do have a suggestion. Think about whether you could afford to live without an income or not, remember that visas have no set timeline and it could take longer for you to receive it in the mail (i.e. can you afford this risk?). Also think about the time spent in the US when you cannot work (up to roughly 7 months after submitting AOS which is also a chunk of $). This is up to you, but definitely think about these things. It's suggested not to quit until you have the visa in hand.

After more than 7 months of being on AP, am happy to say that today my case status on the CEAC site for all 4 of us has changed to ISSUED! Thanks to @SusieQQQ, @TheDjans and all those who supported me with their kind words and prayers. I pray this ISSUED status does not revert! lol

An I-601 is used for an immigrant and requires a QR. This applies both inside the US for AOS, or outside the US for an immigrant visa.
A tourist visa is a non-immigrant visa. The CO can recommend an individual for a waiver or not at their discretion.

Was your waiver an I-601 or I-601A? There's a difference:
https://www.uscis.gov/i-601 https://www.uscis.gov/i-601a Also, the AP you're asking about is "Advance Parole." The AP @Adam A recently mentioned is "Administrative Processing."

Adam A reacted to Insha in Spouse in Admin Processing for 14 months now please help!
    Hi everyone,
I applied for my husband's immigration visa 2 years ago, he had his interview at the Islamabad Embassy in Pakistan on february 27th of 2018 and was put under administrative processing with a request of more pics for proof of relationship (they kept his passport). We mailed the pics 2 days after his interview and received a questionnaire a few days later in march which we filled out and emailed back right away. I asked for an update in may of 2018 after the 60 day mark and just got the admin processing message in their email response. I decided to wait and let them do their thing. A year goes by and the last status update is still from may 2018 when I made my inquiry. I email them again in march of 2019 and got the same admin processing message. His status update date was changed to reflect the new update after my inquiry. I emailed them again about 4 or 5 times since march of this year and now don't even receive an email response, but instead they just give me a response by updating the status date on the CEAC site with the same admin processing status. Recently on July 2nd there was an automatic update that said the case is expiring soon, I panicked and emailed them again, luckily they changed it back to admin processing on the 5th. The case status date only changes after I make an inquiry which tells me they aren't working on it unless I reach out to ask for an update, even then I assume its not a person updating but the system itself. Its been 14 months going on 15 soon, I know theres nothing anyone can do, but any advice based off your own experience or if there is something worth trying?? Im thinking about reaching out to my local congressman, but afraid I'll piss off the embassy by doing that. Any advice?

Its Mrs. Amoah and with all due respect I'm the type of person that refuse to sit and keep waiting around. It does not take a month to print a Visa and attach it to a passport.  My husband is depressed and is ready to go. We gone through 2 years of being apart so excuse me for wanting what's earned! I see you just got approved this month and I'm pretty sure u will be irritated too after waiting a month.  At least the embassy can have the decency to alert people on any delays. Sorry not sorry

Have you considered the process times from others as you may havw an extended wait.

Most embassies will state: You are advised not to make any travel arrangements, not to dispose of your property or give up your job until the visa has been issued to you. The maximum validity of an fiancé(e) visa is six (6) months from the date of issuance. You must travel to the United States within that 6-month period. Please do not request an interview unless you have definite plans to move to the United States within six (6) months.

    Just keeping it real.

    1. All my emails accompany my case number and in some cases my passport number and that of my dependents.

    2. There is no 'direct phone number' to the consulate. The available phone numbers goes to ustraveldocs(an agency that processes usually non-immigrant visa appointments). That agency does not sit at the consulate, I believe it is offshore. They will usually take my message and tell me they will follow-up. Its been just that and no feedback.

    3. After my interview I was given a collections instruction sheet to register with DHL for pick-up, I have been to DHL severally even though they are to send sms but there is no record of my passport ever being delivered there. Indeed, if my passport was ready for pick-up, the ustraveldocs agency would have been able to give me update when I call.

It's disappointing as it is frustrating. I did not expect the USA consulate have such low standard of client relations or a courtesy of care to its clients. I have kids involved and to think that they can keep my passport when they are not ready to issue the visas is the lowest point of thought I could ever have of them.

Adam A reacted to Abbey B in Annulment/Divorce from K1 after 3 months of marriage
This is very hard writing this as I was very involved with VJ during the K1 visa process and was so excited when my fiance came here to marry me from Israel.

He came in January, we married in March and as of June 9th he moved out of the apartment to stay at an AirBnB and is going to go back home after our divorce is done. We had many fundamental issues, he was not willing to work on them or seek counseling, and he kept telling me he wanted to just go home because he couldn't see a future here.

Long story short, we already filed for AOS, EAD and AP back in May--he went for his biometrics and NOW I have filed for annulment. We have no kids or assets together other than our joint bank account which is now been closed.

    My question and concerns are:

Given that I am his sponsor, do I have any legal obligation or liability during the divorce/annulment process?  If we end up divorced instead of annulled, can he try to get alimony from me because I was his sponsor? If we end up annulled, does the "fraud" stay on his record? I tried to get an annulment based off of a 'fraudulent marriage' because he promised a life here with me, promised a family and promised to stay in the US but 3 months after marriage, he does not want to stay here, does not want a family and does not want to be married.
We are not talking and I am concerned what he can do and what he can try to get out of me given that I was his sponsor.

No that is the case inquiry date.   If you filed before that date and haven't heard anything then you can contact them.

NOA2 dates are based on how the case is processed.   RFE, petitioner background checks and such add more variability.

Don't pay attention to the US Dept of State Visa Bulletin yet.  You have another year and USCIS and then the NVC and who knows if your priority date will be current then.

Save yourself stress and DO NOT follow the facebook groups.  Just live your life the best you can.   You'll just drive yourself crazy.   Check the USCIS site every 3 or 4 months until you get close.

How many times did you talk about this?

What's the issue with waiting until 2021? We all had to wait until we were finally reunited. It's part of the process.
Even if you would start the K1 process now you wouldn't be able to live here until summer of 2020. Not sure of how much a fraud country Uganda is.

What kind of job does your BF have? Do you realize that he will be held financially responsible for both his mother and you for a long time? This is a huge financial commitment for him!
You will not be allowed to work until you receive your work authorization (if the K1 is the option you are going for) so that would even be a bigger financial burden as you will not be able to contribute to the household financially.

The way your posts read, you do not seem to have any empathy or understanding for the huge responsibility your BF would have to take on. It seems to have to be all about you and your wants..

A good relationship/marriage should be based on equality and respect for each other, both should be investing in it..

@Gia & Dave your worry has caused you great panic (which at this stage) should not be the case. Like what @Greenbaum said you are logging into the site way to much way to fast. If you continue the site is going to lock you out and your panic will increase even more I suspect. If locked out you will have to contact them and then wait in excess of 3 days for it to let you back in. In summary slow down. There are no slots as you stated. I can understand your anticipation in trying to get a interview date but checking every 5 minutes (figure of speech) is not going to get you a slot any faster. Bottom line slowwwwwww down, slots will eventually open up and I'm sure you will get one!

Well you are divorcing your Husband so that is a dead end.

Your father will be able to petition you but obviously that will be many years and your would need to be in status during that period so that is a current dead end.

So yes going home and then deciding if you want to move to the US when your petition is current through your father would be the way to go.
