VIP_LadyLuck reacted to K1visaHopeful in Biometrics needed for AP?
Recently a few statuses on the USCIS website for AP changed from the usual non changing "application was received" status to something regarding fingerprints or biometrics (I really cant remember the wording but it is similar if not the same to the fingerprints status for I485 and I765). The change in status has been found to autosend a new biometrics appointment for AP. As to whether you have to go is doubtful however due to the closure of ASCs it will surely work itself out in the end (a new appointment would be scheduled if really required however again highly doubtful).
This query has been posted many times by those with the strange status change for AP and resulting second Biometrics appointment letter.
Search it out in the forum to see the same answers.

Give it a couple of days to update.   You only need to go in once - unless something odd happened.

Somethung is very odd.  My wife got her ead/ap back in November.   Biometrics were only required for EAD not AP.

Unless the state changes all marriages to civil unions. Imagine USCIS says, "Hey Missouri! Is this person considered married?" and Missouri responds "Hey USCIS! These people are considered to have a civil union!". Then USCIS says, "Ok! But is that civil union business you got there considered marriage?" and Missouri responds "What we have here are civil unions, not marriages." As it is, Missouri does not officially recognize civil unions under Missouri Marriage Statutes. Then what my condescending friend?

Is it an issue for her? Maybe you should talk about that TO HER and her family, instead of asking people pn the forum to give you an answer for your girlfriend (?).

So it's not possible for a beautiful woman to not have had many boyfriends or to be a virgin? Come on, seriously.

So maybe you should go there, learn about the culture and what life is like there. Ask her, learn where she lives, what school she went to, what was her childhood like, what do her parents do, how much does a can of coke cost there, what exactly is her job and what does she do at work all day, her colleagues, etc etc etc. Again: talk TO HER.
Nobody on this forum can tell you if she's a scammer or genuinly interested in you. You need to talk to her and see if things add up, just like you would do with any other potential future girlfriend.

I think this is ridiculous. One cannot judge a person or a nation like this. Don't insult Philippinos. Imagine being in her shoes, how would you like being judged like that?

Bringing something from the country of your origin seems nicer to me, bring them things they (probably) do not know. Would you want your visitor from the other side of the world to bring you something they bought in the CVS a block from your house?
But you are certainly correct - it would be easier to buy chocolates there after you land. Make your choice.
    ----------------------------------------

I understand you are worried and looking for advice, which is a good thing. Have you had any experience with long-distance dating?
There are many signs that can tell you she's committed to the relationship. Obviously no guarantees, but can be signs of her wanting to do things for you.
(You mentioned "things" on camera....so both of you (I assume) did "things" which both of you (I assume) enjoyed and now you judge her because of that? That seems quite off to me, friend. If one's thinking they way you are thinking, does that mean that YOU are so willing to do "things" on camera and you have done it with hundreds of women?)

    1. Timezone difference.
There's a 12-or-more-hour difference between the Philippines and the USA. Consider this when you talk to her on the phone or text with her. Is she getting up early or staying up late because of you? Does she re-schedule her daily routines to be able to talk/text with you? Do you do the same?

    2. Family and friends.
Does she talk about them at all? Does she tell you what she did with her friends? Does she mention you to them? Does she name specific people, mentions their names, what they do, how they became friends etc?

    3. Gifts.
A gift doesn't need to be something expensive. Make it cute and personal, show her that you know her. Not every girl wants diamonds or loves shopping clothes etc. Infuse your gifts with meaning. Try and see if she appreciates those. Does she gift you anything?

    4. Trust.
Definitely the most important brick in the wall of love. You cannot start building without having it.
I'm definitely not suggesting you "test" her or try to catch her lying. But. Does she live up to her promises? If something goes wrong and she cannot, does she explain to you why?
Talk to her as much as you can, learn as much about her as you can. That will take time, but you need to invest some time to see what she's like, how she handles all kinds of situations, are there discrepancies in her behaviour or her words that could mean she isn't telling you the truth.

Good luck in getting to know her and with your relationship.

Sorry to bump this ancient topic, but I wanted to post an update for anyone that finds this thread in a random search:

We were left completely in the dark, no letters came until the 14th of December, at which point a green card arrived! No RFE after having been guaranteed one at the interview, just 4 months of limbo and then a surprise happy ending. Now to start thinking about ROCs... We're making sure to put both of our names on any paperwork that comes our way from here on out, contrived as it may be.

We just had our AOS in Norfolk yesterday. You can read my review and see what we did. We frontloaded our app and were only asked if we had anything to add. Specifically they asked for living arrangements (deed or joint on rent agreement which I had not sent). We gave deed, beneficiary proof and bank statements. She did go through our bank statements to check that both our debit cards were used. We were asked NO questions at all about our relationship. We were asked for ORIGINAL documents so make sure you bring originals and copies.

VIP_LadyLuck got a reaction from Crazy Cat in POE at LAX experience and applying for SSN
I’m not sure if this is the right thread to post this but please feel free to move it where this post should belong☺️   I was going to share my POE experience as soon as I touched down but Been busy since last week; from attending seminars to meeting my fiancé’s immediate family. Oh, we will also have this family reunion on Sunday from his mothers side of the family and everyone are looking forward to meet me. It’s like 50-60 people. Wish me luck!😅    Manila flight going to Guangzhou arrived way ahead of schedule. Pacific flight on 7/17/19 from China to LAX was an hour ahead of schedule, middle seat was a no show so I get to lay down most of my 12 hour flight. CBP and TSA was a breeze! LAX to Dallas was also 45 min ahead of schedule. However, AA changed my flight time from Dallas to Kansas City 3x but gave me a window seat!☺️ My longest international flight was a good one!

Also, I applied for my SSN yesterday at KC, first officer said she’s not familiar with K1s but endorsed me to someone who did which was very nice of her. Looking forward to getting my social security card in 2 weeks! Guess I should register with post office anytime soon

Hope this is helpful to anyone who are POEing at LAX.

It should have been on the visa sticker that placed in your passport. Here is a link with more information and the instructions where to look on the visa to find your numbers. Like @Cyberfx1024 stated you really don't need it for the interview or anything else till AOS submission.

VIP_LadyLuck reacted to rrobin0609 in Missouri marriage on K1 - marriage certificate or license??
My husband and I got married in Kansas City, MO.

We went to the recorder of deeds and got our marriage licence. There is a fancy certificate that is not legally binding, and I believe there were two other forms that your officiant should have filled out and sent back to the recorder of deeds at the court house. In about a week, you should get the legal marriage certificate. Comes on yellow-orange card stock and doesn't look nearly as nice as the blue fancy one which, yes, has your maiden name on it. The yellowish one I believe also has the maiden name on it, but you take it to the social security office, bank, licence bureau, work, etc, to update your last name.

VIP_LadyLuck reacted to S&J_ in MARCH 2019 - AOS Filers
    Hey all,

Congrats again on the approvals today! Finally sat at my laptop and can write a bit about our interview today. As others have said above, they begin with confirming info on your AOS applications and checking id's, and going through the 'yes' or 'no' questions. Our interview was supposed to be at 10:30 and we were called in at about 10:20 and finished the interview at 10:40. I had made a pack showing joint accounts, bills, phone lease, apartment lease, vacation booking for later on in the year, etc. At the front of this pack, I listed these things and made a front cover type thing so she knew what was in there and whether each thing was an original or copy. She seemed to be taking notes on this. She didn't ask for the photo album I had made. Questions seemed to be mostly directed at me. Husband is the USC. He answered maybe one or two things with me but that was it. Also, she asked if all my vaccines were already done in the UK, I said yes (I'm adjusting from K1).

Couple of hours later, status changed to card being produced. Don't know if this will be of any help to others in the future but I guess my point is, if you come prepared and ready, you should be okay (coming from someone who worries a lot).

I hope others hear something back very soon about AP/EAD and GC interviews. I realize we've been fortunate with the early interview so I'm really rooting for you all to get news soon.

Hello! Don’t know if anyone is interested but I’ll still update here. My visa status on CEAC is already ISSUED as of today around 4pm. I know it is around that because I checked around 3:30pm and it’s still on AP. lol

For the other VJ peeps who are still waiting on their status to go from AP to ISSUED, I know it’s easier than done but please hang tight. Sir @Hank_, @Greenbaum and others were right that once it switched to nonimmigrant from immigrant, it means it’ll be soon.

    Praying for everyone!

Looks like everything is moving along smoothly, your case file has already moved to non-immigrant (which is always a good sign) .. just a little more patience.   It has only been 5 days (working days only remember).   😉

There's a typo in my birth certificate too. Apparently, my mother's name has atleast 8 variations. No two documents have the same spelling of her name. Not even my mom's passport, voters i.d., and PSA birth cert. One document says "rosife", other says "rosefe" other says "rose fe", other says "rosie fe", etc.
As a result, my birth cert too has a messed up spelling of her name. My sisters too.

Probably, nobody in this world knows the real spelling of her name. (My grandparents are already dead).

I got my b1, b1/b2, k1 Visa, as well as, greencard with zero issues.

The interview is not the time to "set the clock" for expecting your visa within a certain number of days.    Until you see ISSUED status on CEAC nothing is approved.  Once you see issued status it can be another 5-10 days (business days) before delivery.

If you status switched over to non-immigrant that is a very good sign that ISSUED is not far away.

    More patience people ...

VIP_LadyLuck reacted to Eric Bargemann in May 23 Interview Approvals Not Yet Issued
I just called and the only thing the representative was able to tell me was that each visa’s timing is on a case by case basis—which is true however there are so many of us in this predicament. I made a point of that to the rep, asking if there could have been a stack of visa apps overlooked or misplaced. She advised that while she can’t confirm any such information, the timing of each visa’s issuance is dependent upon the consular officer adjudicating it (slightly more specific response when challenged lol).

So what we’re likely dealing with is a consular officer that is either slower or more meticulous. Greeeeat. 🙄 Praying for us all to see ISSUED soon! Keep us updated on your progress everyone. 🙂
