You don’t need to overthink this, gather your text messages and emails showing back and forth conversations. Take pictures together, plane receipts, the more visit between each other the better, call records and whatever else you might have.  Now since japan isn’t really a high fraud country I doubt that there would be much or if any scrutiny about the legitimacy of the marriage for most Japanese citizens other than background checks.

I think it’s long overdue, it simple immigration isn’t a right. People need to be prepared for the cost and don’t expect the host country foot the bill. If you want to be mad at anyone be mad at the people who caused this issue, if you moving a family member and don’t factor in their age, you pocket and ability to provide for them in an emergency you should be held responsible.

In some places in the world you can currently even live in the same city, and won't be able to visit your sick family member that lives on the opposite end of the city because they live under lock down.

I have read that the green card is received 2-4 after entering US with a spousal visa.
I wonder whether entering US and receiving green card after October 15th 2019 will be affected by the new public charge rule.🤔
