I'm scheduled for naturalization interview in Dec 2022. I filed in Dec 1st 2020.

I have received my 10 years green card while ago.

- Do I need to have my spouse with me in the interview?

- Which test I will be taking?

Please reply

Thank you

They allowed both of us in for the interview in our case with n400 only interview invitation. We had a combo interview and a 3 year n400 case.

It may not always be the case but I would have the spouse either in the waiting room or on standby downstairs with a phone. If by chance the IO wants to speak to the spouse it would be best to have them nearby available if needed.

OP has a 10 yer green card. Ergo no combo interview. Not comparable.

They won't allow your spouse to come to the interview with you unless you also have a pending i-751. Since it’s only the N-400 in your case, no your spouse will not be required (or even allowed). Doesn't matter if you filed under the 3 or 5 year rule.

We did under 3 year rule with a 10 year card. While spouse was allowed in the building was not for the interview. read the letter, if spouse is required it will say so. As the Spouse of the immigrant I felt it was the right thing to do to accompany her on such a big day, to each their own though.

I was allowed into the waiting room for my husband's N400 interview, and he had his 10 year GC already.  No one even asked who I was or why I was there.

So I'm guessing it depends on the local field office if your spouse will be allowed in, but it also probably won't be necessary for you to take your spouse with you if you already have your 10 year card.

As others have said, no, your spouse won’t need to accompany you and won’t be part of the interview since it’s not a ROC/naturalization combo. I don’t know what other restrictions there are related to COVID in your local field office, but when I took mine about a year ago, nobody without an interview appointment was even allowed in the building. The same rules applied for the oath ceremony, which I really hope is no longer the case where you are. Best of luck at any rate.

Some federal buildings house different federal entities. For instance, the Newark NJ Peter Rodino Federal Building has a Circuit Court, SSA, USCIS, etc. So the main building security may allow you into the building but the USCIS floors may or may not allow you into the USCIS waiting area. However, lately the USCIS floors have been allowing family members to wait in the waiting area (combo interview or not), which was also the case prior to pandemic.

So it definitely depends on the local office.
