Hello.

My green card was sent to the wrong address and the people there gave it back to the mailman.

I recently received this notice from USPS: "Your item was picked up at a postal facility at 9:35 am on August 20, 2022 in LEES SUMMIT, MO 64002" with a status of "Delivered: Individual Picked Up at Postal Facility".

I'm in Carson, California and I can't fly to Missouri to retrieve my package.

Is there a way to have the people in a postal facility there send me back my package?

P/s: I also sent USCIS a request to send my green card back to the correct address and they said I have to wait for about a month to have my case looked at.

It's no longer at a postal facility.  It was returned to the sender (USCIS) and has already been picked up by USCIS.   Did you submit an I-90 ?

Lees Summit, MO is where Green Cards originate from.

I had no idea about this I-90 form. I just completed and submitted it! Little question: For how long will my case be reviewed? And when will I get my green card back?

I-90 are taking about a year, give or take

The good thing is that the stamp on your visa serves as a greencard. After a year you can get it renewed. So however long it takes to get your card you have something to prove your status.

ask help from your local congressperson. happened to me 2 years ago with my EAD because i moved and didnt know that usps wont send it to my new address even though i paid for mail forwarding ( lesson learnt). i googled and found out that it will take months for uscis to resend again. i reached out to my local congress person and a week later, i got my EAD in my new address/ for second time around, uscis will request a signature, means when there's no one at home, usps wont leave it at the mailbox. i have to pick it up in nearest post office.

dont forget to let ur local congressperson about the wrong address situation.

Update 09/25/2022: The biometrics appointment was fast. In about 15 minutes, they asked for my picture, signature and tell me that USCIS would work on my case for 5 to 9 months from then. However, half a month later, USCIS sent my green card to my updated address! No charges! I wish everybody the good luck on their cases like mine.
