Has anyone realised that they closed 1 or 2 processing centres for the K1 and moved them all to California?? The wait times were 6-8 months and now its 7-9.5 months and only California has the K1 processing times. Does anyone know if they closed them or if something happened?

I didn't know the others closed. If that's true that's going to be really rough for later filers. I always thought Texas was the alternate, and Vermont was for 'special' cases (like those with criminal backgrounds). I-129F processing has been going up for a while now, though, the real time is 10 - 12 months; all new filers getting approved have waited over 10, as March 8th approvals are still rolling in and, with 3,000 March petitions left, this filing group won't finish anytime soon.

Allocate approximately a year for the NOA2 unfortunately. The processing times will be updated again shortly.

Edit: Does TSC not process I-129F?

As of now, TSC is only doing k3/k4. I guess the processing times aren't always accurate but they changed the estimated time ranges for k1 so now it'll take longer then expected

Exactly..... All cases are different, like the great Geowrian once said "USCIS is like a large grocery store with several checkout lanes.  Some lanes are just faster than others".

California Service Center has been handling all (or almost all) K-1s for years.

Maybe but I'm just not sure why the estimated time ranges changed for it to take longer now. I thought maybe the cases from texas got transferred to california so now it'll take longer.

K3s and K4s are virtually non-existent.

Processing times fluctuate up and down periodically.   Personally, I know of no K-1 cases processed by TSC.

And then you get all excited about one allegedly fast lane; only to find out that the check out computer broke down!

Dont get me wrong, I myself used to look at the processing times when I first applied for my AOS. But once I realized that my process was going to be done in 6 months rather than 12 months (as shown in the Pittsburgh FO processing times) I realized approval depends on so many factors that there is no point in even looking at them.

First, it depends on how strong and sound your case is. Second, it also depends on the officer you get. If they are a newbie, they have to run it through their supervisor. And it also depends on how the officer feels about your interview and your country of origin.

it always fluctuates…. When I was going through K1 last year the time range changed twice. And it will always keep changing. It won’t stay the same for years and years…

Fluctuations depend on so many factors including # of new petitions,   # of RFE (which extend the time to process and take up the average), office to office transfers ,   Holidays,  vacations and illness of staff,  weather and mail delivery are just for a few

all the above change on a day to day basis and affect the average times

sometime around 2009/ 2010 the California office experienced a water line break inside the office and cases were lost

offices go thru power shortages,   hurricanes , tornadoes same as homes do

and it matters in the averages
