LIN filer here.  We finally received our ROC approval after 18 months of waiting.

My husband's N400 interview was scheduled for Sep 6, 2022, but the interview was cancelled, due to the A-file not having arrived at the local office in time for the interview.  We were informed that when they re-scheduled the N400 interview, we would have a combo interview at that time.  The N400 interview was then re-scheduled for Oct 21, 2022.

We received the ROC approval out of the blue on Sep 21, 2022.  Not sure if the impending N400 interview instigated the approval of the ROC, or if it was just a happy coincidence, but we'll take it!

It seems like the only hope for YSC is if you file an N400? Did anyone in this group get their straight 10 yr ROC/GC approved yet with YSC? (without seeking citizenship)

PS: My case is pending interview since December 2021.

Hello Everyone,

Going of what has been discussed lately I have found this link.  https://www.nolo.com/legal-encyclopedia/conditional-resident-awaiting-i-751-approval-consider-filing-n-400-for-naturalization.html

They suggest writing a cover letter with your N-400 application.  Since I applied online I can still add documents to it, so I'll give it a go.  Better luck everyone!! @LarryHickman F'ing sucks! I'm so sorry that happened! That's some bs.

This link is super helpful! Preparing my N-400 filing right after Thanksgiving this month.

A cover letter is the way to go. I appreciate you very much!

Last time posting here. An update:

I-751 Priority date: March 2021

Brought my husband with me but IO told him to wait outside. IO went straight to the N400 questions and testing. Asked 5 questions (mainly political). He only confirmed my biographical data for I-751. Asked me if I wanted to add anything new...gave him 2021 tax return transcript, car title, auto insurance update. I asked him if he wanted more info, he said he had enough. After that, he said "congratulations...you passed the test and you're approved. Ceremony letter will be mailed in a few days". Received an update in uscis case tracker a hour later that "Oath ceremony notice was mailed". Letter was available in uscis online account.

My case has now been in “Ready to schedule an interview” for the last year! Is this normal? I’m not applying for citizenship - only removal of conditions (I-751). Getting a little worried over here.

Believe it’s with Potomac. Have done fingerprints after the package was sent in, then nothing for now over a year.

My wife's case has been in that status since May of 2019.....A couple years is pretty common now.

Unfortunately, this is very common. The "ready to be scheduled for interview" status is basically meaningless. It has become more and more common for ROC applications to take 2+ years to be approved, and taking over a year is the norm.

The USCIS journey is almost over for my wife and I. After our case was transferred from YSC, we received an appointment for the N-400 interview in late November. The interview was a combo (I-751 and N-400), so we met with the IO in a joint interview first for the I-751 portion. The IO was polite and in a good mood. She asked if we had any additional documents to submit, so I gave her a copy of our new apartment lease, renters insurance and bank statements. She thanked us for being well organized and thorough. The IO mentioned that many people come to their interview and have to search for documents, so being well organized helped the interview go very fast. The IO then told me that my wife would have to be alone for the N-400 portion of the interview. I left the room and went back out to the waiting area. My wife completed her N-400 interview in about 20-30 minutes and passed. We are now waiting for an oath ceremony to be scheduled. Because we are changing her last name, the oath ceremony could not take place the same day as I understand it. Anyway, we are seeing the light at the end of the tunnel and wish everyone here success in there journey. It took almost 5 years to get to this point. It will be nice to not have to worry about keeping evidence and other documents anymore.
