Hello everyone.

We got an email today saying that my daughter's case status has been updated (we're still at NVC).

When I went to check it turns out they're still missing some documents (which I uploaded) but my daughter's case status has been changes to "accepted". Does it mean she's QD? Is there going to be a separate email notifying us of DQ status?

Many thanks

Yes, you and your daughter (if she uses a separate email address to yours) will receive emails confirming your "status has been updated" at NVC. Check the messages there and it will say "Documentarily Qualified".  In my experience, my teenager's documents were processed before mine. I think that's actually a good idea because at least you don't have to worry about your kid when you get yours, and it's highly unlikely they will process a minor without their parent.

My interview is Wednesday and I'm having (another) panic attack, so sorry if this question has been answered here, but I can't find the answer right now.

Because of COVID, I do not have my husband's original birth certificate, passport, or deed to his house. I do have copies of his birth certificate and his most recent property tax assessment (proving where we are going to live). Given the times we are in, do you think the Embassy will accept copies or do you think I'll be put into AP until he can send up the original of his birth certificate? TIA

EDIT: I do have our original marriage license, and certified court copies of his divorce decree, along with original signatures of the AoS. Thanks.

From what I've read in the reviews, they actually ask for the original birth certificate and passport of the applicant / immigrant, not the petitioner.

I can't think of the last time someone has been asked for the petitioner's birth certificate or passport, it's been that long. Also, why would you need to show the deed to his house? I'm assuming he doesn't live in Canada (as you can't get his documents) so there's no need to show proof of domicile. I would be very surprised if you got put in AP for either of these.

I am not a lawyer and nothing I say is or should be taken as legal advice.

Thanks - I do have a copy of his BC as proof of citizenship. I thought we had to bring proof of where we were going to live when we move to the US. Like I said, I am in pre-interview panic mode and you all have been amazing at your guidance through the process. I have proof of his address (paystub, tax bill). It's just been such a long and crazy wait because of the mess 2020 has been and the changes from President 45 to President 46...anyway, I will breathe now. Thank all y'all so much! :)

I wasn't even asked for any if my husband's documents.  I went prepared with original birth certificate and passport but didn't need them!

You don't need original BC, passport or deed.  I had a copy of hub's naturalization certificate, but they didn't even ask.  It's more checking your own documents than anything.

Thanks for clarifying that for me. I don't have the answer to your question below but good luck on your interview on Wednesday.

Wow what a quick turnaround! Congrats, my husband was put into AP this morning. How did they contact you once everything was resolved on their end?

I just checked the status site provided in the c221g form.  I was interviewed Wed., it changed on Thurs.  I got my Passport and Visa today, Monday.
