Hopefully any day now, right?

Last batch was three weeks ago TONIGHT. They, quite incredibly, cleared end of January through to mid-March DQs. Final interview for that batch (for people on here, at least) is the 23rd. So they'd need to send out the next batch for interviews happening in two weeks and onward this week otherwise not enough time for medicals.

Hoping next batch covers a similar 7-week DQ time frame (mid-March to, what, early-May?). Hope you get in that batch and your interview is September, not October!!

Then hopefully rest of May and June DQs for late September and October interviews.

We are all getting there. HOPING they follow the same timelines and schedule appointments this week!!!

I've started checking this forum everyday since the days tipped into August! Let's hope so. Again that little word, hope.

Also thanks for everyone's advice - I emailed our lawyer and he's going to mail any original docs I might need and email me any non ogs I might need for the interview. This being done, in the spirit of hopeful preparedness what do we need for our medical? I've seen different things around (some saying we only need a vaccination record and others a full medical summary, and elsewhere we'd need a Drs letter too?) Can anyone advise?

7th may DQ here. Even if its October I'd like to have everything ready so I'm not stressed or scrabbling round trying to find everything at the last minute! Good luck, everyone.

I took my medical summary. I'd only just moved GP and medical records were stuck, I had the copy from the new GP with basically nothing on and luckily a copy of the front page of summary from the previous GP. The medical people were OK with that (think it's mainly to see significant and minor pasts) but you do need the summary.

Some summaries have the vaccination record on, I had mine spread across info from the 80's 90's and occupational health from an old job 3 or 4 years ago and as long as they have your name on it somewhere they seemed OK with that. Worst case if you can't show it the you'll need to either fork out for the jabs there and then or go to your own doctor and get them done then get your doctor to write to the medical people, which of course delays the visa.

I had some medical history for depression and low mood so took a letter with me from my current private therapist detailing that with some specific phrases in that had been mentioned within the UK portal in other threads. The medical people talked through that. There was no mention of it at the window in the interview today.

I imagine if there any ongoing issues that you may have in that medical summary, there maybe a requirement for a letter or note from a doctor or specialist giving detail around the ongoing treatments, prognosis etc. Hopefully someone else might be able to give advice on that though as I can't be too sure.

Hope my experience helps a bit though.

What kind documents did they have to upload? Trying to get an idea of what additional documents I could be asked for.

Also, how long before the interview did the medical happen?

Sorry for the late response! Well... they had their medical on the 22nd July and their interview was 2nd August so it was plenty of time but she needed the TDAP and the doc at Visa Medical said she could just get it from her gp and send in the new vaccine record (I had said she should get anything she needs there so it's wrapped up and done) so she did that but then had to wait over a week to go to the doctors and it ended up being received by the Visa Medical the day before the interview.  They sent it pretty quick, I think by the 3rd the Embassy had received it.  I would just get any vaccines you need before you go and if you can't, pay for them there if you can - so much easier.

The next issue was I didn't realize my parents had a couple of certified copies of their marriage and birth certificates so I guess the ones I uploaded weren't the ones she took with her (I just presumed they'd be the same as she'd not mentioned these extra copies so that stressed me out). They had a different reference number so anyway I just had to upload them to the NVC/CEAC website. They received their passports on Monday so 6 days later with no other issues.

They were asked for their passports, interview letter, passport pictures, DS-260 confirmation, their birth and marriage certs, my birth cert and that's about it.

If your application is digital (as most are now), they don't need the 4 passport photographs anymore - they take a digital one at the medical. However, I would still recommend having them just in case.

Highly recommend getting the missing vaccine shots at the medical if you're able to afford it. It's what I had to do as my vaccine record was lost in my move from South Africa to London.

t-minus 1 week to interview...

Good luck to the next batch. Finger's crossed you start getting emails soon.

For the police certificate, my husband's was issued in February 2021 (more than 6 months ago at this point). The Dept of State website on civil documents notes:

Police certificates expire after two years, unless the certificate was issued from your country of previous residence and you have not returned there since the police certificate was issued. If at the time of your interview the following three items are all true, you must bring a new police certificate to your visa interview:

    • You are more than 16 years old;
    • The police certificate submitted to NVC was obtained more than two years ago; and
    • You still live in the country that issued the certificate.
But the US Embassy UK site says the medical examination needs a police certificate that was issued less than 6 months ago. The Visa Medicals site doesn't specify the six month validity period.

Will he need to get a new ACRO report for the medical?

I’ve also heard that about the clinic snapping a photo at the appointment and attaching to the digital file.

Contact the clinic and confirm their policy.
