Consulate Review: London, United Kingdom
Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : August 10, 2021
Embassy Review : Arrived around 9.35 for a 10.00 interview. Showed my passport and interview email confirmation sheet to the girl outside the entrance. Went through security and into the building reception. Receptionist took the same docs and printed out a number and couple of barcodes and said go up in the lift to floor 1 and furn left and then left again. The ticket tells you which window to sit near to be called to.

I sat down around 9.45 to wait maybe 5 or 10 minutes and was called up to a window with the ticket number. The guy (who was a total misery) took my marriage cert, police cert, birth cert, passport, passport pic, comformation of courier email for passport to come back to. Asked when we got married. Took my finger and thumb prints. Told me to sit back down in the same area and wait to be called back and in the meantime read the sheet on domestic violence.

Another 10 mins maybe went past and I was called back up, asked to hold my right hand up and swear that everything i answered was the truth. I took out my ridiculous folder of info and history and the lady this time smiled and said I'm likely to disappoint you but I doubt I'll want to see any of that but thank you for taking the process seriously and coming prepared. She asked me when and where we met, where my spouse currently lives, asked about the ceremony, asked what I do and what I hope to do for work and then asked when I hoped to emigrate.

After that she said good news, you're accepted and give it up to two weeks in case of any delivery delays but you'll be good to go in 3 weeks. All in all (other than the first guy who wasn't American and seemed go be hating life) very quick and painless. The interview was like a chat more than anything too scary. Roll on the flight in just over 3 weeks time!
Rating : Very Good

POE Review: Atlanta
Event Description
Entry Date : 2021-09-02
Embassy Review : Arrived in to Atlanta and was sent into the visiting foreign nationals line in the International terminal. I told the first agent I was entering for the first time under my IR1 visa. He looked and nodded, took my picture and asked me if I had any alcohol or tobacco that I was bringing in with me, then put my passport in a clear folder and walked me to a secondary (This was basically the World Traveler interview area near the baggage claim door).

I sat and waited until called and the lady there had activated the system and stamped across my visa and a blank page with the entry date and hand written "IR1". She said that the SSN & Green card should arrive in 4 to 6 weeks and that if they don't then to contact a local social office for the SSN & a specific website for the green card to check the status.

I mentioned that I needed to update the address that these needed to be sent to and she said it was no problem and she took that from me and said "Welcome to the United States". By the time that was done, my luggage was on the carousel and it was easy to load a cart up and get to the airport exit.

I spent longer waiting in line and for the first agent and then for the secondary than I did in actually having any kind of contact with the agents. Whole process from getting off the plane and getting out of the airport was no more than 40 minutes.
Harassment Level : Low

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
