Wife had her Biometric appt today, less than 10 minutes!  Ironically, today is also her birthday so we'll be celebrating the movement tonight!

EAD card came yesterday! Now to wait for my SSN! Interview likely won’t be for another 6 months but at least the EAD card gives me some reassurance!

She should file using the I-130 Receipt notice.

I-864 is filled-out by your brother, and the rest of the forms by your mother. In general, send the following four packets (*note that I-765 and I-131 packets are optional, but highly recommended) in the same envelope to the Chicago Lockbox:

  • I-485 with I-130 Receipt notice, I-864 and supporting documents, electronic I-94 copy, filing fees, etc.;
  • I-765 with electronic I-94 copy, etc.; and
  • I-131 with electronic I-94 copy, etc.

She'll separate each packet with rubber bands or fasteners: https://www.uscis.gov/forms/forms-information/form-filing-tips

On the I-485 packet, I-485 payment method (check, money order, or Form G-1450) must be the very first item of this packet.

Do NOT submit I-944: https://www.uscis.gov/green-card/green-card-processes-and-procedures/public-charge "Applicants and petitioners should not provide information or evidence related solely to the Public Charge Final Rule. That means that applicants for adjustment of status should not submit Form I-944, Declaration of Self Sufficiency, or any evidence or documentation required by Form I-944 when they file their Form I-485."

Hello. I marked you guys because I think that I saw you all talking about RFE in the past.

I'm sending my RFE tomorrow, but I'm still confused about which address I should use or if I should send a copy or original RFE letter.

Could you guys help me, please?

What courier did you use and which address did you send?

Did you send the copy or original RFE letter?

Thanks.

i wonder if i can request my ssn with the SS office with just my EAD

Yes, you can: https://secure.ssa.gov/apps10/poms.nsf/lnx/0110211420

Employment Authorization Document (EAD), Form I-766

The EAD card provides evidence of a non-immigrant's authorization to accept temporary employment in the U.S.

DHS issues EADs to certain non-immigrants, regardless of age, to whom DHS grants temporary employment authorization. DHS does not issue EADs to the following:

• Non-immigrants whose employment authorization is inherent to their COA.
• Immigrants granted lawful permanent residence.

The front of the EAD generally displays the:

• alien's photograph,
• alien's fingerprint or “Fingerprint Not Available”,
• alien's signature or “Signature Waived” (When signature is not available),
• alien's biographic information (i.e., name, date of birth),
• category allowing the alien to work,
• employment authorization validity period (the length of employment that is consistent with regulatory limits on the time elements involved and a definite date as to when employment may begin and end),
• terms and conditions (consistent with regulatory limits on the type of employment authorized), and
• date and place of issue.

In terms of the RFE letter, you can just make a copy of it and send in. It really doesn't matter. Definietly keep a copy for yourself though! I just made a copy of it and sent it with mine and I used UPS so I sent it to the following address:

USCIS, Attention: Adjustment of Status

850 NW Chipman Rd

Lee's Summit, MO 64064

If you are sending it with USPS, use the other address on the RFE letter.

Hopefully that helps, good luck!!!

I have a question. I have a lot of drafts and other paperwork that are filled in but did not get sent in (making a copy for myself, copies of receipt notices etc.) Once the green card arrives, can I shred all of them? Is there anything that I need to keep?

I'm so happy to be adding to the good news pile! This morning my status for I-485 changed to "new card is being produced"! :D Interview was waived, I guess, and I no longer have to worry about losing my job :D

Can you share your time line? Was this employment or marriage based?
