I am confused. You just stated you were sent in AP. Now you’re case is at NVC. Which one is it?

I called the US Consulate and told them I got my medical exam done today, but the results won't be ready before the interview. They told me to bring the receipt of the medical exam to the interview. They didn't mention or bring up any suggestion to rescheduling.

I asked if I need to bring the original of I864 submitted. They said it's always good to bring original documents and whatever documents that can support my application.

I asked if this Consulate just started scheduling visa interviews. They said they're still closed, but if I receive the interview appointment letter, then the interview is on.

Also, I was wondering - we applied for a CR1 visa. However, we will be hitting out 2 year anniversary soon. In that case, if we enter the US after our 2 year anniversary, will my husband be granted an IR1 instead? I'm aware we might need to bring it up to their attention, otherwise they may think this is still a CR1. Or does not not work that way anymore?

If the date at the time of entry at POE is over 2 years it will automatically be issued as IR1.  You don't have to do anything.

Hi,

I eventually want to change my last name to take my husband's surname. I haven't done this yet, and all documents are submitted with my maiden name. Should I wait until my husband is in the US? At what point would you recommend me to do this (looking for most efficient way)

Doesn't really matter when you do it. Your name has no barring on his Visa. You could change whenever Social Security office opens. Which is who who's when.

Once you change at SS office then you can get drivers license changed, and anything else you want change.

We were lucky enough to get expedited to the embassy...only to find out that the 2 people who process green cards there are gone until the end of the month on vacation 😢 . feels like a kick in the you know what... we can't even schedule until those people come back to work. it is so frustrating i just want to cry about it today.. I thought we would be at least scheduled by now. Such a bummer!!!!!!!

Do you know if I have to contact them to let them know my name changes since i filled out all the paperwork with my maiden name?
