Thanks for posting this!

Just to clarify, this only lets you enter the bank account info if none is on file. If already on file (either due to past returns or using the tool to provide it), it only displays the estimated date (like anybody else).

They only update the payment status once a day. So if you provide info today, it won't have a date until at the very least tomorrow.

We also got $500.0 per my step -daughter since we claimed her in 2019 (we alternate years with her mom).

I thought money for a child would be sent  to a custodial  parent, but looks like  IRS goes  "by Return" - you claimed, you got it.

This message is what I get when I use my husband's SS number and mine.  I really hope they didn't screw something up when he became a citizen.  We already filed our 2019 Taxes back in March.

Did you get a refund or owe money? If refund, how was it sent? Was it received yet? It's possible they haven't processed the return yet.

I have the same status. My hubby and I haven't filed for 2019 yet, but I filed single 2018 and provided my bank data. However - I recall IRS sending me a check even though I did give them my direct deposit info. I would just expect that it lets me reach the "enter bank data" page instead of telling me that they don't know if I'm eligible lol

I have this status as well and we’re not alone. Apparently a lot of people on Twitter and reddit were complaining about this, but it’s supposed to be just an error. One twitter user said he got the “payment status not available” even after he received his money via direct deposit. It’s happening to so many people and it’s very annoying but nothing to worry about.

We are due a refund and haven't received it as of yet due to the tax status saying it is still processing.  We did get our state refund two weeks after filing. Just the Fed part still pending.

Oh glad to hear this is happening to more than just us.  Bummer for us all but at least it's something lol

Gotcha, thanks. Then yeah, they likely haven't processed it yet so that is one possible cause of that message.

it's too new to even really speculate on a known cause yet.

My status is also “payment status not available”.  my husband filed 2018 tax return as single first, and we submitted Amended tax return with a letter "elect as resident alien". Even though we got a refund check from state return after amended return filing, we have not heard anything back from federal for more than 5 months.. I am really concerned about it. I guess this affects Stimulus Check Portal status as well. How did you check Fed tax return status?

We filed our joint 2019 return Monday afternoon, I had my SSN in Aug 2018.

Only got my husband's $1200 stimulus auto-deposited, we are wondering if my $1200 will auto-deposit when our 2019 return is processed? From what I read here, nobody knows yet!

Mine first said "We don't have enough information to process your payment"........then after I entered my bank info, it said "We will process your payment and deposit it in the bank account you provided"......I just tried to check it to see if I missed the date.....but I can't connect.....I guess the page is being hit pretty hard right now.........Hopefully, I will see a deposit soon...😄

Both of our online bank and credit union account sites seem overwhelmed by the deposits today.  I was finally able to confirm that ours was deposited - several months earlier than they had projected based on income!

I tried the stimulus tool again and it still worked for me, but slower than 6 hours ago. We have not filed 2019 yet. Seems like the issue is with ones who already filed 2019. They possibly know you filed but processing is still in progress. Yay for procrastination!
