My fiance is from the UK and we’re in the process for waiting for the noa2, which was supposed to have arrived any day now according to processing times. I started a really good new job literally two weeks ago, I was earning well above required, he was going to be here in 1 to 2 months.

Then the Coronavirus hit and I got hit with the “last in first out” policy, while my company lies to me about trying to save money. They’re still getting catered food and beer, extra healthcare help, personal uber/lyft rides to work, and telework approved.

A week ago I could prove I have a job and support us both, we were looking at apartments, our life was going to start out amazing. Then all of this happens. How am I supposed to cope with all this when I don’t even know when next I can see the love of my life, much less hug him.

People in isolation all over the world stuck with their partners in the same house, able to work from home, they’re all complaining. Meanwhile us K1 beneficiaries and petitioners have to have our fiances be stuck in another country, and have to watch them get sick while we can’t do a thing. Life feels really ###### unfair.

I’m so sorry if this isn’t the appropriate forum, I just didn’t know anywhere else that would understand. Everything feels so horrible, I just want to go back to 2 weeks ago.

I feel for everyone who is caught up in this. Its impacting all of us in one way or another. Back when I did the k1 the waiting times for NOA2 had ballooned to 7-8 months at my service center and I'd feel the same feeling that you're having about those that didn't have to wait this long (I'd see others getting NOA2 in 30 days, because they were at a different service center).

When things are bad its always good to consider the good things you have - health, loved ones, plans for the future. In time we'll get through this and you'll be together. Spare a thought for those who have, and those who will lose their lives, or loved ones.

There is no way to wind the clock back 2 weeks, so no point dwelling on that. Just look forward.

Its possible some good might come out of this. The petty partisan squabbles that feel like they've ripped the UK and the USA in two might be bridged by this. We all rely on each other a lot more than we might have recognized.

A year or so ago my city (Wilmington NC) experienced the full force of Hurricane Florence, and it was pretty devastating for many here. But it also brought out the best in people - I liked my city prior to the storm, but there was a different feel afterwards that came from us all looking out for each other, and helping those that needed help. There was an appreciation for those who helped us - fire fighters, police, military, medics, even the guys who came from all over the country to help restore our power. We bought them meals, we gave them cold drinks when they were working, or we just told them how much we appreciated what they were doing for us. I gave gas to our neighbors who needed it for their generator - they gave us cold beer that we'd run out of (poor planning on our part). It seemed to bring us all a bit closer together. It seems strange that this might happen in the current situation when we're being told to distance ourselves from everyone, but I hope we salvage something positive from this mess.

I feel for you but need look for a job asap as you need to prove financial support.    Amazon is hiring so are walgreens and grocery stores.

My wife now is from China, we had K1 interview in 11/2019, she left China in 12/27/19 just before it hit and we were among the last few .. then same thing when we did the AOS , 2.24 was cut off for new form etc.

hang in there, dont give up, rework the strategy.. get a job with income, ANY JOB so long as you exceed poverty threshold by 125%.

Im so sorry for you and I definitely understand how you feel. Just 2 weeks ago I was organizing my wedding with my fiancé but now all the consulates have closed and I’m not able to go to my K1 interview that was scheduled for 31 March. It feels so surreal.

Take one day at a time and treat yourself to something nice. I hope things will get better for you.

Hi! were you supposed to have your interview in Sydney? Did they e-mail you about the postponement of the interview?

I am waiting for the date of my interview and it looks like I have to wait longer. It's heartbreaking but right now, we just have to wait, pray and be patient.

Hey, yeah mine was scheduled for the 31st March and I got an email yesterday saying it was cancelled. All appointments have been cancelled in Sydney and they haven’t told us when they will resume doing interviews. So yeah, unfortunately you’ll have to wait longer for a date. Fingers crossed they’ll resume soon.

I feel you. My US finace was supposed to be with me today in the UK. We were going to leave for the US on the 31st March. Now that aint happening... 😕   My visa expires in early July (I got approved in February). Some people have even earlier expiry dates it seems. I hope we get extensions and the ban is lifted soon..

I feel like extensions will be approved, this is a unique situation the world finds itself in, sadly the US was a bit behind getting on top of this, i honestly cant see the ban on travel being removed before April 30th, i had family due to fly to the US  to visit and the end of April and they all just had the flights cancelled. Im sure the US government and all other countries want travel back up ASAP as the impact its having on the tourist industry is devastating, and the longer it goes on, the harder that recovery will be.

Thanks, the email I got showed most of this. Sadly doesn't help k1 as they aren't valid for several years so we have to just wait and see what happens with us.

Meanwhile I am waiting 2 years for my partner and it stuck in limbo. LIFE IS REALLY UNFAIR. Some people lucky to approved within less than year other NOT.
