Keep those February approvals

It's so hard to be so far apart especially so during a pandemic.

I hear that!.. It's bad enough that we have to wait almost a year for the approval process, but to be prevented from visiting your fiance during that time just adds to the heartache.

In some embassy reopening threads, there are news about the reopening and setting an interviews only for spousal visas :( what will happen to us? Is it logical to switch to CR1 or whatever ? or is it better to wait and see what is going on ? :(((

That would be very much a personal choice.  And it will depend on where you are and what your finance(e) is able to and willing to do.  You are 4 months in now based on your timeline... you’d need to arrange your fiance(e) to come to you and get married, withdraw your I129f application, and start fresh with the CR-1 application. I can’t imagine a world where that would be logical...I’d be waiting and seeing what’s next personally... I’ve thought about discussing it with my Fiancée but I can’t fathom going back to square 1... and then likely having to explain it later on.  Just my personal uneducated opinion

My opinion is that they are going to clear the backlogged CR-1 cases first since they are family members and should be reunited first. Then they will move onto pending at embassy cases of K-1's and then those K-1's that are at NVC will come next. There is nothing you can do but sit and see how this plays out. Remember the "man with the gold makes the rules". Good luck and stay engaged.
