Yeah i saw the medical with Afghanistan its like $400 I think but I'm not sure if thats right. So another question, would I be able to pay the $265 from my end for the embassy?

There isn't many Afghanistan people here on VJ and there isn't a lot of information on the process. I have someone who is on the same level and near you in the process that I though the two of you could buddy up and work together and share what you have found out about the process. That person is @WhoKnowsWhoCares. Good luck to the two of you. BTW if you get a P3 letter please share it with me. I don't have one for your embassy. thanks.

I'm still waiting on mine and im at 115 days 😢

We got ours after about 147 days, also applying for beneficiary from Afghanistan. We submitted beginning of January (NOA1 - Jan 9th) and received our NOA2 on June 4th. So don’t loose hope. Your NOA2 may come soon, hopefully in July or early August. Be sure to keep your timeline up to date after you receive your NOA2, I’ll do the same since we’re so close to filing stage we both can be a reference for timelines for one another. Unfortunately, SO MANY people filing for K-1 Visas for Afghan beneficiaries have not kept their timelines up to date after they get approved, which is such a shame. That’s why there is not a lot of information about Afghanistan here on VisaJourney or anywhere really. Let’s change that by keeping ours up to date so others after us won’t face the same struggle.

I'm at 124 days now and the waiting gets harder each day. I agree 100% and I most definitely will. We will definitely help others in the future. I just had a question but I'm not sure if you will know the answer to my question. My fiancé is in Afghanistan of course and I wanted to know the medical fee. So I saw on the website its about $415 but I'm not sure if that's for the K1 visa.

Unfortunately right now I’m not sure either but $415 sounds about right. Once we receive our NOA2 in the mail (we only have gotten e-mail notification last Thursday) and we can do the medical exam I can let you know the exact number.

Thank you so much! I really do hope the embassy is open. Do you know if we can pay the embassy ourselves instead of the beneficiary?

I’m not sure what you mean? My beneficiary is paying for all fees himself. I don’t know what situation you are in exactly or if you are the girl or guy. But in our case my fiancé (male) is covering all of his own costs, including bringing savings for the 4-8 months he won’t be working when he gets here until he receives his work permit. If I was a male living in the states, I would cover the cost of my fiancée (female in Afghanistan - since job prospect is pretty low for females there).

You can pay for the beneficiary by sending her money through Moneygram (download the app - she will have to pick it up in person but you can send via the app). Then she can use that money to pay the embassy. I would do that once you get closer to the interview. You can also send her money for her medical exam when the times comes. If your beneficiary is a male living in Afghanistan, I would recommend not sending any funds, unless you guys have actually met in person and have known each other for a long time and you are 100% sure he has no means to pay for anything but is ready and able to work hard when he gets here and stand on his own two feet. Not sure if you are Afghan yourself or what, either way, always stay cautious.
