Hi. Approved today (the 5th of May 2020). NOA1 was the 19th of February 2020. 75 days in total. 🙂

Now, I'm wondering. I've seen people still waiting from July 2019. Do you think they are giving priority to some jobs? (Is an engineer considered more valuable than a bartender?)

I'm a software engineer, I live in Holland and moving to Texas.

I am as well and it still took 247 days for my July Potomac IOE approval.

No, for us from 2019, they wouldn't even look at ur file until months later, they wouldn't know if you are software engineer or astronaut. Something has fundamentally changed beginning 2020, where they are looking at the cases much faster. They had a pilot program thing going on in early 2019, it's possible something like that is back, or they are just looking at all cases in 2020 much earlier.

Our case has been touched several times, including getting issued an RFE. Our last "touch" was 5/6.  I wonder if we are getting close?

As far as jobs go, I do not think it matters. I was unemployed when we filed out our application. I do have a BS and MS in geology, and I am currently working in my field.

Hi guys! Monthly update time for May 2020!

For the entirety of May, 260 😱 VJ member petitions have been approved by the USCIS across all the centers (by timeline).

Approximately 13 cases a day (work day) by the organization as a whole.

Of those 260 petitions approved, 25 of them were at Potomac - a little more than 1 petition a day.

The first petition of the month was approved on the 4th of May.

The latest NOA1 approved this month was February 19th of 2020 (no one knows why they seem to be working backwards from April at the same rate they work forwards from September). The latest NOA1 approved without expedite or I-129f or whatever other weird thing they have going on now was September 26.

The current estimated range for application completion on the USCIS website is between 7 - 9 months from your PD. If you filed before September 7th, and you still have not received any notifications about your case, you should call USCIS and find out what is going on.

We are a small center (only 1,896 petitions recorded) but our daily rate of approvals is fairly steady. Keep in mind, some filers do not have their timelines set up and so their data is not contributed to the pool, so it may be even more effective than my numbers show here. Please encourage any and all Potomac filers in the forums to go ahead and set them up so we can start to get more accurate readings on our timelines.

Congratulations to all of you who were approved this month! We hope things continue to go favorably for our fellow filers and that many more will receive good news over the next month!

Don't forget! I have created a tool for public use that will allow Potomac Filers to get a visual aid for where Potomac  Center seems to be at in the approval process. I have shared it on FB and I will share it with you all as well. I made a very basic data tracker to help us. You just fill out the next row in the spreadsheet and it will place your case in a bubble chart. When you get an RFE or an approval, you simply change your status in the spreadsheet next to the chart and it will change the color of the bubble. I've also added the option for someone to note that they are a transfer from another center to Potomac. That way, everyone will be able to tell at a glance where Potomac Center is at in approvals. Check it out and let me know what you think! I am open to suggestions for improvements if it is within my limited coding capabilities. Everyone is encouraged to enter their information, even if you have already received your approval so we have a good idea of where everything is at. Thanks! Please let me know if you guys need any help or if you are having difficulties using the spreadsheet. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1oZ10PLJbVaEuTUHz6SHlnYQGhIP9inMrsC4CgltwEXc/edit?usp=sharing

Hi I am new to the group.
Filed IR1 on Nov 25 and received online receipt of notice on Nov 28. Last update on the online account is Jan 15.
Receipt notice starts with IOE but at the bottom of the notice it shows Potomac so assuming its Potomac center only.

Based on the new processing time for Potomac center 32-42 months bit worried about my application. Anyone has any idea what is happening and when to expect the approval?

hi there,

I am new to this, but I was wondering if anyone knew why there was such a large jump in the processing times for Potomac. The other day it said 7-9 months and today it says >30 months?

We filed in October of 2019...any tips?

Thanks

OMG! 30 months?!?? Where does it say that? We filed in March 2020 and are hoping be approved in 4-6 more months. 😭
