  1. I'm already in the US. I sent my passport to an Antwortnummer in Utrecht (provided by the consulate via email).
  2. For sure they will give him his passport back, wait for the records, then process it, then ask for his passport again. Expect at least another 1 and half month before getting the visa. 😞
  3. Got the email today, 10 minutes after the posting the thread. The passport will arrive tomorrow. 12 days in totals.
  4. Hi, I've received on April 9 this email from the Consulate: We have finished with our administrative processing of your visa application. Would you please send your passport to us as soon as possible? Thank you. I've sent them my passport the next day. The status on the NVC site is "Issued". I tried to write to them, no reply. Today is the 12th day that I am without my passport. How long does it take to put a visa on my passport? Can a Consulate retain someone's password so long? Is this even legal? Thanks
  5. Hi, I've sent my passport to the Consulate because I was instructed to do so. My visa is ready and they need to stick it to my passport. I've sent it April 10. I wrote an email to them (you know... to check if they received my passport) but no reply. Passport should have arrived April 13. On the site https://ceac.state.gov/ceacstattracker/status.aspx I can read: Case Created: 05-May-2020 Case Last Updated: 15-Apr-2021 Your case is ready for your interview when scheduled at the U.S. Consular section. If you have already scheduled an appointment for an interview, please prepare your documents as directed in your appointment letter and appear at the consulate on the appointed date and time. Otherwise, please wait until you have been notified of your interview appointment. Additional information about how Immigrant Visa interview appointments are scheduled can be found at: http://nvc.state.gov/interview For more information, please visit TRAVEL.STATE.GOV. I suppose that something happened on April 15. The description of the status is still the same since mid-February, only che "Case Last Updated" field has been updated. Any idea of what this means? Many thanks.
  6. Hi, I've sent my passport today to get my IR1 visa from the Consulate of Amsterdam. I should receive it back in about 1 week. I have a job offer already, and I'm thinking to move to the US in May to start working the last week of May. Can I work with my visa or must I wait for my SSN or Green Card to be delivered in America? Is there some sort of SSN or related number on the visa? Thanks
  7. Hi, My wife(American) and I were DQd the 2nd of February 2021. A couple of weeks ago, I wrote to the Clinic in Amsterdam because (my mother) lost my vaccination record. They replied and told me what to do. They also told me when I wanted to book the visit. I was waiting to book the visit until I know the interview date (according to the instruction on the CEAC website). The Clinic, apparently, wrote to the Consulate and the Consulate wrote me: The Panel Physician/Clinic in Amsterdam has contacted us since they have sent several emails to you but they are receiving no response. Please let us know if you receive this email and if you wish to continue the processing of your immigrant visa. If yes, please contact the clinic directly in Amsterdam as soon as possible. I explained them the situation, but for what reason would they think that I want to renounce to the Visa? Also, they included my wife into the email. How can they know her email address? This means they are already in contact with the NVC, aren't they? Let me know your thoughts. Thanks
  8. Hi, My wife and I live in Holland, she's American, I'm Italian. We applied for a CR1 visa. The NVC has closed the case and it's ready to send it to the consulate in Amsterdam for the interview. What is the situation of the consulates around the world? In the US consulate of Amsterdam's website, it states: Due to limited staffing, the U.S. Consulate in Amsterdam is only able to provide very limited emergency non-immigrant visa services until further notice. This change in services does not affect currently scheduled immigrant visa appointments. What does it mean? Are they providing ONLY non-immigrant visas? Are they providing immigrant visas normally and very limited non-immigrant visa? This is very unclear! I saw other consulates' websites: Germany seems to be closed, Belgium and Denmark seem to be open, UK is only slowing down. Can you please share your info with me? Thanks
  9. Thanks for this reply. The real question is: - on their website, they are reviewing cases from 90 days ago; - we submitted the documentation the 23rd of December; - after a couple of weeks they requested more documents; - I uploaded my missing document the 10th of January and they were approved after 6 days; - they requested more evidence, we submitted everything the 16th of January: they still need to be approved. So, it's not true that they're reviewing cases from 90 days ago... Am I wrong?
  10. Hi, we noticed that the timeframes on their website can be wrong, because we submitted some documents that got approved after a week, while the website says 90 days. We are on our third submissio , lol.
  11. Hi, We paid and uploaded all the documents to the NVC portal, the 23rd of December 2020. We have already received three requests for providing more documents. We have provided all the requested extra documents already. The question is: the fact that they've asked for more, it means that our case has been / is being reviewed and we should get an appointment to the consulate soon? On their website, it states that the 19 Jan 2021 they are reviewing cases from the 20 Oct 2020. Thanks!
  12. Unfortunately we were asked to do so. We were surprised, to be honest, but it's clearly stated in the Step 5 od the NVC list. https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/immigrate/the-immigrant-visa-process/step-5-collect-financial-evidence-and-other-supporting-documents.html If you completed Form I-864, I-864A, or I-864EZ and your mailing address and/or place of residence is not in the United States, but your country of domicile is the United States, write an explanation and provide documentary evidence indicating how you meet the domicile requirement.
  13. (I wrote this post on my wife's behalf) Yes, she filed Federal taxes every year even if (temporary) living with me abroad. (I wrote this post on my wife's behalf) No, she's working here with me abroad remotely.
  14. Hi, I'm trying to prove that I've maintained a domicile in the US. I'm using my parents' address. One of my parents is also a co-sponsor. How does this list compare to what you've used? -Car title and insurance -Valid driver's license from my state -Bank statements (bank is based in same city as domicile) -Retirement statements (US accounts, of course) -Proof of active voter status at domicile address -Letter of acceptance into a state educator preparatory program. Also a statement from the governor's office to state principals saying I'm eligible to be hired as a first-year teacher. I've been working on the certification requirements. Many Thanks
