Hi guys!

Thought I would start a thread for this since I didn't see it anywhere else. This is for all Potomac filers of the I-130 in 2019. I noticed that the last person to get approved had a NOA1 date of July 1st and there hasn't been another one since the beginning of the month. My projection for receiving approval had pegged the date between the end of January and the beginning of February, with an email estimate of February 5th. However, today the projection suddenly changed to between June and September of 2020 - a six month leap. I don't understand what could cause this so suddenly as the data hasn't really changed at all over the past couple of weeks. Any ideas? Has this happened to anyone else?

Oh thank goodness! It has gone back to February, albeit later, but I'll take it!

It keeps going back and forth 😱 Now its between June and September. What is going on with their algorithm? Every day is a fresh chance to have a heart attack it seems.

The problem is they don't update their website more than a couple of times per year... its said the same thing when we applied back in August 😞 But you have a point about the timelines... now it has completely forgone any estimate and left us with,

"There are not enough recent approvals in the timeline system to accurately approximate when your I-130 will be approved. Please see the Timeline Stats page to see recent approvals."

The issue that makes the timeline estimate unreliable is because it's such a small sample size. For instance I'm a July filer and there's 32 entries for that month, so it's such a tiny percentage out of probably 1000s of petitions.

However they are good indicators for where the service centre is currently working through. A lot of June petitions have been approved on VJ, therefore July will obviously be next and "likely" they will get to our petition soon, so I have my fingers crossed for approval over the next month or two.

Another good indicator is downloading the Case Tracker app. You can go back and search case numbers and it'll list up to 500 and show whether they are approved etc, which can also indicate the most recent priority dates they've reached.

If Potomac are starting with us July filers, then you, as an August filer, will come right after.

Good luck :)

Seriously, I used the case tracker app and discovered there were at least 1000 forms with the same NOA1 date as us. 😅 Obviously, not all were for the I-130, but still... sad.

Also find it slightly panic inducing that the most recent approval of the latest PD was on the 6th of December... The only reason I think they are still alive is because they sent an RFE around the 4th of this month to 1 person.

If sample size is our issue, we need to get out there and advertise! 😂

Hey guys! Posting this picture that was posted in a group on Facebook to give us more definitive answers for the delays.

Loads of cases are being transferred around like the pandemic flu.  Best strap ourselves in... this could take awhile to work through.

fingers crossed this doesn’t affect the “7.5-9.5 months” official timeline for Potomac.

It looks like early July filers are all getting approvals right about now, hopefully if the current timeline sticks, all of us will be approved before the end of March!

As the sun sets on the last day of the first month of the year, some interesting stats for everyone!

For the entirety of January, 74 VJ member petitions have been approved by the USCIS across all the centers.

Adjusting for weekends, lets say that is roughly 3.75 cases a day by the organization as a whole.

Of those 74 petitions approved, only six of them were at Potomac - roughly one petition for every three or four days.

The first petition of the month was approved on the 15th of January.

The latest NOA1 approved this month was September 13th (due to filing of the I-129f). The latest NOA1 approved without expedite of I-129f was July 9th.

We are a small center (only 1,724 petitions recorded) and while the daily rate of approvals does leave something to be desired, we are moving forward, be it ever so slowly. That said, at least we are still ahead of Nebraska and California (sorry guys), so let's keep on... keeping on. 💃🕺

Hi everyone!

As of this morning, the new processing times from USCIS for Potomac are 7.5 Months to 10 Months.

Officially slower than Texas now 🙈

But as IsItLekker says, could be worse, and we'll get there eventually!
