Consulate Review: Amsterdam, Netherlands
Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : March 16, 2021
Embassy Review : The appointment was at 9am. I came at 8:45.
After the metal detector check (like a basic airport), I was sent to the other room.
I was asked for my documents and then waited to go to another window.
I swore that everything I said was true.
Questions:
- Where did you meet your wife?
- What are you going to do in America?

I am now waiting for the medical results to be sent to the Consulate as my visit was scheduled the same day in the afternoon.

I was out at 9:25.
Rating : Very Good

POE Review: Atlanta
Event Description
Entry Date : 2021-05-15
Embassy Review : The airport was almost completely empty.
They let me sit down, then called my name.
The officer didn't asked me any question, he gave me back the passport with the stamp and gave me instuctions in case I won't receive a Green Card in six months.
That's it!
Harassment Level : Low

Hi guys! Have you made it through the NVC process?

No, we were just waiting to see how things were going with the Covid. We paid today.

Did you need any shots at the medical check-up?
YellowDuneBuggy on 2021-03-18 said:
Yes, I needed to do them before. At GGD or KLM.

Hi I'm trying to align with my employer when we can swap my Dutch contract for a US contract. I was wondering if it really took 6 weeks for you to get your social security number, as that's how long it takes according to the USCIS website.

Yes, it took me 6 weeks, but there's a trick apparently (it sound stupid but the SSA told me this): at a certain point, in your visa application, you will be asked: "Do you need an SSN number when you are in the US?" If you reply "NO", and request it AFTER you are in the US, it takes less time. Another trick is this: you can call SSA (please, expect a long wait), you can ask them to be put in a "priority list". Apparently it makes the process shorter. However, you can work without a SSN. In our HR software, there was a checkbox that said: "I don't have an SSN but I will receive one soon". Things can be different from state to state. My experience was in Texas.

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
