A lot depends on the level and quality of the relationship evidence that you provide at the K1 petition phase and the visa interview phase There may be some increased scrutiny at some of the high-fraud countries interviewing US embassies/consulates. Look at the K1 visa guide, https://www.visajourney.com/guides/k1-fiance-visa/ , it's not magic. What you need to provide is a good mix of the types of evidence stated in the K1 guide. So that the IO, can easily determine the viability of your relationship.

Good luck on your immigration journey.

depends on the consulate.

for most, it is not an issue.

For consulates where large age gaps and the inability to have children where it is the norm, it can be more of an issue.

Multiple visits and quality time spent together in person usually overcome this.

Many of our answers are predicated on the information you supply in your profile. When we look at the left column and can't determine your timeline OR your Embassy you'll interview at it's hard for us to give you a factual answer. Our answers will sometimes be tailored to a specific Embassy hence the reason for you to complete your profile. If you look at the profile of others here, they have a flag for their country, so it makes it easy for us to reply as we can quickly determine their Embassy. The country that should be used is the country where the interview will take place.

So, if you could help yourself out and complete your profile that sure would help us out when we want to reply to your question with factual information.

Go to the top right of this page select your name (it's on the upper right-hand corner)>my profile>[below your picture on the right column] edit my profile. Scroll to the bottom and fill in "Immigration Info". There now we can better serve you.

Once you finish that then return and you will see a flag in your profile. Select it and see what wonderful information will open up for you.

Thanks

My now husband and I have a 28-year age gap.  I did a lot of research on overcoming age gaps in the US immigration process here on this site and followed it closely.  We chose the CR-1 spousal visa route and he was approved 11 months after I filed an I-130 petition.  Many have done it for K-1 too.  All you have to do is submit evidence that the relationship is real.  For France, you should be okay with basic evidence since it isn't a high-fraud country.  Good luck!

If it is a red flag or not depends on local customs. I don't think it would raise that much scrutiny for France. It may raise a lot of scrutiny for a country like Morocco with an older female petitioner and younger male beneficiary. It would not bat an eye in a country like the Philippines where large age gaps are not uncommon.

Note that a red flag just raises the bar of what relationship evidence is needed - age alone is not a reason for refusal.
