Please I want  to know if age.gap will be can lead to denial of the petition process, I am 41 yrs while wife is 54 yrs. Pls have anyone gone the process with much age gap and got approved?

For those ages, age gap is not the significant.   Part of it has to do with cultural significance and also childbearing.   We have a 26 year gap but in her culture it is not than uncommon.

You don't show the country so it is hard to be specific.

It tends not to matter until you get to the consulate stage.

I am from Nigeria, and we are planning to get marriage in Nigeria but the age gap has been giving me concern.

I have a 19 year age gap with my spouse. I’m older. I don’t anticipate a problem, particularly since we’ve been together over 3 years, married almost a year. Just sent the I-130 a month ago. Our evidence of bonafide marriage is particularly strong as well, I think that will matter more.

The key to overcoming an age gap is lots of evidence of a bona fide marriage relationship submitted with the I-130 petition, documents to show multiple trips to be together like boarding passes, passport stamps, hotel receipts, a few photos, and also documentation showing the co-mingling of finances like shared bank accounts, credit cards, beneficiaries on each other's health insurance, life insurance, retirement accounts, and a will, living will, etc.  Nigeria can be a difficult location to interview for any couple, so your best preparation for concerns about the relationship will be documents to support your relationship like I mentioned.  In your case I would not suggest filing the I-130 without lots of supporting evidence and multiple visits showing time spent together in person.  My husband and I did this and were approved in 11 months with a 28-year age gap so you can do it too if your relationship is genuine and you have the documents to support it.  Good luck!

20 yrs age gap and no issues but Nigeria as Cathi said is a different embassy and much tougher than UK.
We did have 4 or almost 5 yrs of trips back and forth, a child, and a ton of “evidence” to support.
He was not even asked about it at interview but I would venture that your embassy will require much more.

Good luck on your journey !
