Online Filing

The agency’s transition from paper applications to a fully digital experience continues to be an important priority for USCIS. Consequently, USCIS continues to expand our online filing capabilities.

• In FY 2019, 1,214,300 applications were filed online, a 10.4% increase from the 1,100,242 filed in FY 2018.
• USCIS added three forms (N-600, N-600K, and I-539) during FY 2019 for a total of eight forms (I-90, I-131A, N-336, N-400, N-565, N-600, N-600K and I-551) available now for online filing.
• USCIS plans to add several more forms for electronic filing during FY 2020, including the I-485, I-765, I-131, I-129 and I-589.
• Additionally, USCIS stood up FIRST, the federal government’s first fully electronic FOIA/Privacy Act request and delivery system that allows users to submit and track FOIA requests and receive documents digitally. In FY 2019, more than 26,000 electronic responses have been delivered to indivduals with online accounts.

Yawn, only about 10 years to slow.   

 

It will be good if they add the i129f,  maybe then maybe the occurence of the 10,000 page petitions submissions will be curtailed

Good news.

I understand the I-129F and I-130 would be harder given their extra complexity regarding supporting documents, verification of documents, non-English values, etc. I've had to deal with that type of stuff in my former life/employment in creating document imaging solutions, and USCIS is such a bureaucracy already.

Actually the i130 gets put into electronic form by NVC.  Don't understand why it couldn't be done by the Uscis from the get go.  The i129f is only complicated because the petitioners overcomplicate it

Actually, new I-130s are being entered electronically into the system already (IOE receipts). But who knows exactly what that entails and is included - some physical documents still need to be manually inspected (seals/embossing, etc.).

Partially yes on the I-129F...some things again may require manual validation (i.e. in our packet, we provided Cambodian Angkor Wat passes with an official stamp, and JR passes) for evidence that we met in person. Maybe a scan would work for those? I don't know how ####### the IO wants to be on it.

Seals or embossing?  Nothing original is sent so how can that be inspected?

The USCIS page has a typo 🙈

The current forms are: I-90, I-131A, N-336, N-400, N-565, N-600, N-600K and I-539 https://www.uscis.gov/forms

Form I-551 is the Permanent Resident Card or Alien Registration Receipt Card.

It's good! Less way of losing such important papers that were lost and getting RFE again.

 

If they really require certain stuff that include original feel/embossed or seals, they'll ask to have it sent in. That's 1 way of verifying.

I can see how this could reduce simple RFE's related to missing information or overlooked questions and reduce workload for the agencies involved.  Positive news.

Great news.

Online applications are a lot more convenient than paper qualifications.....wish it came earlier.
