We were assigned to the Baltimore office.

We arrived about 30 minutes before our time because we left so early. We were let in about 15 minutes before our appointment; went through security then checked in.

We waited about 20 minutes before being called back. She asked how we met, went over the security questions on the paper (ie. guns, terrorism, previous marriages if applicable) verified our address, asked if we wanted to submit anymore evidence, we gave her our packet, she breezed through it, and that was it. She was very friendly and professional. She wasn't stern at all. I wish everyone could have such a lovely officer.

@LuFlolady Yes, my wife's interview was on September 28th. The online case status still reads "Interview Was Completed And My Case Must Be Reviewed." Although it's not uncommon to have to wait for approval, it's still frustrating when you see others get approved the same day as the interview and receive their green card in only one week. On the flip side, I've seen others wait weeks and sometimes months to get approved after the interview. Unfortunately, all we can do is wait!

ok this at least makes me calm because i was getting frustrated and impatient...I will continue to patiently wait...the interviewer told us everything looks good and fine so i was thinking everything would update and move along fast....thanks for responding i hope you hear something soon!

I had my interview on 23rd Sept at 12:05pm and it went like a breeze. Got there at 1130am and was let in, went through airport type security check even had to remove shoes, then went up to 7th floor to a room where the person at the window asked for the interview letter and gave us a token number and asked us to go to another room and wait for our number to be called, we went to the other room (people were social distancing) and were expecting to wait for 1-2 hours but our number was called and the IO thanked us for coming early for our interview and took us to her office where she asked us to sit (she told my USC wife to sit on the middle chair and told me to sit on the aisle chair) then she made both of us take an oath. She was very nice and told us if she asks any embarassing questions its just part of the process even though she didnt ask any such questions she asked where we met how we met and when we met each others family how is our relation with each others family, asking for wedding pictures and askes us to point out people in a couple of wedding pictures and kept a couple. She didnt want any other documents but we asked her again and she kept our joint bank account statements and joint tax return. She said since I got my medical done in 8 months prior to submitting my aos application I would need to do it again but I took out the I693 instructions page to show her that as long as you submit your file within a year of medical its fine so I would suggest everyone to take the instructions page or get a new medical done to avoid any delays. At the end she said she is going to approve us shortly after we leave and we should have our green card in 2 weeks. She escorted us out then and before we even reached home our case status updated to new card is being produced followed by multiple case updates and I got my GC on Sept 30. All in all a very good experience thanks to our very nice IO and ofcourse all of you who have been with us in every step of this journey. All done for 1 year and 9 months.

Hello,

Does anyone know of a WhatsApp/GroupMe/Facebook group for filers of Los Angeles Field Office?

Our FO = Los Angeles Field Office

Priority date = in July/August 2019 (we had to fix a document and resend it)

Waiting for our interview to be rescheduled (the original one was supposed to be in April 2020, but it was canceled in March due to COVID-19).

Best wishes.

Interview rescheduled for Oct 14th, was originally the beginning of April.  We got transferred to another close by state before but now we’re going to our own field office.  Glad they did that since it’s not as bad of a drive.

Need some advice too.  Been pestering my bank for months to add my husband’s name to the account/statements but they’ve been a huge pain about it.  I do have him on my main bank’s statements (where my paychecks go) it’s just hard to see where he’s listed since it prints out a list of all the accounts and credit cards with a tiny note that he is the joint account holder.

Do y’all think this will be enough?  We live with my parents so no rental/mortgage to put him on, no car loan either.  He’s on all my credit cards and I’m on his.  Also he’s on my work insurance (though they think the space in his name means he has a single letter first name).

Also does anyone have a checklist of evidence to bring to the interview?  Having to redo everything in a week is driving me crazy.

Do you already have the letter notice for Interview? They add a list of all documents and proof they want. I believe you have good proof, if you want you can add a letter signed from 1 or 2 people who witness your marriage or maybe your parents who live with you both.

Based on others Interview experience, what's most important now is to proof your income is above poverty line.

My husband and I also don't have assets and the rent lease is only under his name, I'm the foraner tring to find a job, so I can add the proof you already have. Retirement account, life insurance, etc.

You will do good 👍 and congratulations for the interview date!

We have separate bank accounts but share insurances and such. Our officer didn't ask for any of it though we had it. There's a checklist on the back of the notice but our packet had: taxes, shared insurances (health, dental, home, RX, car), lease, payslips for both of us, photos.

Yeah we got the letter on the 4th (thanks so much for the whole 10 days we got to prepare all over again lol).  Was just looking for advice given our current situation and to look at lists of what other people brought to maybe spark ideas on any other proof of relationship I might be forgetting.

We should be fine on the income situation.  I make around 150% of it and have assets to cover over 200%.  The only problem is it’s a rather new job (started in January, got promoted to full time by July) but it’s really stable since no one else really wants to do the work.

Wishing you luck on the job hunt!!  My husband has been looking a bit but where we live it can take over a year to even get a call for an interview (It even took me a year to get a job when I moved back here).  Hopefully once things settle down and he has his green card he can get his driver’s license and expand the search outside our city.
