Lied to Immigration Officer

My friend lied to immigration officials, they denied it but let it record in the country. He tried to re-enter but 
refused Mr Turco entry, and said "we remember when you lie to us". He now applied for the K1 visa and fears that 
the interviewer will not say you lied to try and get into US how should we beleiv you. Even if he only lied about 
why he wanted to go to US but they never got him to tell that this truth. He worried that it will make it a horrible 
interview.

First of all, what lies were told? And to whom: Embassy personnel, USCIS, CBP, ICE, ...?

It sounds like he was denied a tourist visa, then tried another tourist visa and was denied again due to whatever lie was told the first time?  

The whole part about "he only lied about why he wanted to go to the US"....

Only really the part where he spoke about lying about why he wanted to go to the US---normally a question asked either in a tourist visa interview, or at the border when requesting entry into the country with a tourist visa, and how that lie was "recorded".  And then he mentioned "tried to reenter"...which led me to think he tried for another tourist visa (since he was denied the first time).

 

A lot of my previous career was spent teaching English to ESL students...so sometimes I'm "used" to the way their sentences are constructed....

 

I've been wrong once or twice before, naturally.  Hopefully he can come back and clarify a bit more.

I have to agree with your observation. So he is going to apply for another visa, this time a K-1 and all of this is on display to whomever can access his record. Good luck with that interview.

I am an ESL teacher and I have to admit I had no idea what he was talking about only that his friend lied to someone at a previous visa interview (?) and is now worried about it going against him at the K1 interview. His post is definitely word salad.  Good job on the decoding.
