@Greenbaum, when should I schedule the interview for my fiance?

I am in Nigeria at the moment, and I have received our case number & invoice number.

I am scheduled to leave Nigeria by the 11th of August, but would like to attend the interview with my fiance.

Do you think that we would be able to be interviewed by that date? What can I do to speed things up so that we attend the interview together .

Got our NVC number yesterday...

I read some samples of packet 3 and it mentioned regarding court records: if you have been charged with crime or other offence, obtained a certificate court record  covering each offence...

I had a case before and its a civil case..do i still need to get certificate that the case is over?!

Did you call NVC to get the #, or did they Email saying they received your approved petition?

Do not think you can schedule your interview until the embassy has received your petion from the NVC.... and sadly the NVC is taking around a month (30-45 days) before it sends the packet to the embassy. Sadly another waiting game 😜 but it’s getting closer and closer to being together forever! But it does seem like in some countries you can schedule the medical exam now. Maybe check out the Nigerian forum in here and see what people do from your country.

If the Embassy took the time to include it in the instructions for the interview I highly suggest you abide by their request. If you don't you could be facing fraud and your denied or they can send you an RFE without visa approval till you submit said case. The answer is YES you must provide any court records even those that have been settled.

Do you think that we would be able to be interviewed by that date? I can't say as I have very little knowledge of how things work for your Embassy.

What can I do to speed things up so that we attend the interview together? Read the links in the post below. Check timelines of others who are ahead of you and ask direct questions to them. Look for the VJ sub-forum for your country or region and see if there has been any activity. Lots of tools on VJ. I have throughout this thread given suggestions to others on how to use the tools to their benefit. Invest a little time in reading the history and you'll have tools to process to your visa.

Fiancé/Fiancée visas (K1s, K3s)

If your K1 or K3 petition has been approved by the Department of Homeland Security and you have received notification from the National Visa Center that your petition is on its way to post, you should download and complete the following application. The U.S. Consulate General in Lagos will contact you when your petition has arrived at post so that you may schedule your appointment. If you have questions, you may e-mailLagosIV@state.gov. [Click to open "Interview Preparatory Packet (K1, K3)"PDF 539KB] Also, please review the pamphlet “Information on the Legal Rights Available to Immigrant Victims of Domestic Violence in the United States and Facts about Immigrating on a Marriage-Based Visa.”  (PDF 53KB) https://photos.state.gov/libraries/nigeria/487468/pdfs/Interview_Prep_Packet_K1-K3_SEP14.pdf

Congrats! Yes, your fiancé will need a copy of the NOA2 to bring to the interview.

Below is the website to check the status of your file once it is at the NVC, but in order to check the status, you'll first need to have your new case number assigned:

https://ceac.state.gov/CEACStatTracker/Status.aspx?eQs=WwjqOlbeRYzCYubaSQI+RA

I received my NOA2 on 7/9/18 and just called NVC for my case number for the first time yesterday and got it after being on hold for about 20 minutes.

One more useful website on calling NVC:

https://sites.google.com/view/post-noa2/home

I-129F Sent: 12/29/17

Consulate Received: 8/9/18

Packet 3 Received: 8/13/18
