This is all kind of depressing.

I naively assumed it was going to be much simpler than I think it will be now.

Is it worth getting a lawyer for this K1? Although, I don't really want to spend the money on the lawyer. I'd much rather spend my time reading on here.

Unless there are previous legal issues (convictions, etc) especially for the beneficiary, a lawyer is nothing more than a middleman and unnecessary.

Nothing about this process is cheap, easy, fast, or fun. And being from a high fraud country, makes it even more so.

Mezyan,

I signed up for this only to give you some Direction. As in 2010 I met my spouse in in 2012 we were married in the United States I went through the Visa process and it was a breeze. I recommend that you contact rapidvisa.com and pay for their service and they will prepare everything for you. I don't know what their service runs right now but when I did it back in 2011 and applied for the Visa it ran around $300 for their service you are still going to have to pay for the doctor's visits the passport passport photos you have to pay for the change of status as well as the cost to file with the government those have nothing to do with rapid Visa however at this time they will allow you to make those payments via credit card whereas in the past you had to pay cash up-front for everything. But I can tell you the gentleman that owns rapid Visa his name is Ben. I met Ben when he was in Colorado Springs and now they have moved to Las Vegas. my story ended in a divorce however that did not deter me from looking for love overseas again and I am preparing to use the service for a second time. Good luck check out their website I think you will find that they can be most helpful.

Good luck also be patient the process from the time you first file is going to take a minimum of 6 months up to a year we were approved after 11 months and I went to Colombia for the interview as well.   but we were never asked for a single item additional and there was nothing that ever held up our process. Again good luck and I hope this information was helpful.  Www.rapidvisa.com

I do not work for them or represent them in anyway. Thanks Rob

My recommendations: don't pay a lawyer or "service" to do this for you (unless you have criminal backgrounds or other potential hurdles like that), you will most likely do just fine on your own, like most of us here on VJ. It would be a waste of money.

Also, I recommend the CR-1 instead of the K-1 (especially now when the i-129f processing times are much longer than they used to be). I went the K-1 route and would definitely go for a CR-1 instead if I had to do it all over again. And I went through one of the absolute easiest embassies.. unlike you guys. You plan on visiting him soon again, you could get married then.

But in the end it's obviously your choice, these were just my personal recommendations.

K-1: 12-22-2015 - 09-07-2016

AP: 12-20-2016 - 04-07-2017

EAD: 01-18-2017 - 05-30-2017

AOS: 12-20-2016 - 07-26-2017

ROC: 04-22-2019 - 04-22-2020
Naturalization: 05-01-2020 - 03-16-2021

U.S. passport: 03-30-2021 - 05-08-2021

You've received some good advice here. I concur with others that your multiple visits puts you in a better situation to be approved, and that you can do it yourself without the need for an attorney.

One piece of advice that I haven't seen yet is if you file a k1, make sure that you don't do any sort of pre-marriage ceremony that has the appearance of a real marriage. Such a ceremony could jeopardize your k1 application. The k1 is specifically for marrying in the USA.

First let me say that I'm no expert on this topic. So, I can only share what led to our decisions.

Like many other couples,  my wife and I went through weighing the pros and cons of the K1 vs CR1 route. We even spoke with a couple of attorneys,  one of whom advised us to go the K1 route.  Something just felt right about the CR1 visa. We followed our instincts and were married in her home country. We felt that the K1 visa would put us at a higher risk of a denial. The attorney told us that a CR1 visa could take between 12 to 14 months whereas the K1 could cut that time in half.

Besides, even if we were approved for the K1, my wife would go stir crazy if she couldn't work right away. She has a strong work ethic.

We tend to look at the big picture and so we knew waiting few more months would put us in a much better place in the long run.

My thoughts to you is to consider the CR1 visa. It takes longer but is less risky and expensive and will cut out a lot of red tape. If your K1 is denied, then you'll have to go that route anyway, which would end up taking 2 + years as a whole.

Unless you have an extraordinary circumstance, I'm not sure that an attorney is worth the extra cost. We have friends who used an attorney and it ended up costing them 6 months longer because she kept messing up the paperwork and getting RFEs.  That was an isolated case but it does happen. In our case, we prefer to use the money for travel to see each other as opposed to putting in the pocket of an attorney who cannot speed up the process. That is not to say that attorneys are not necessary but, in our case,  it just felt like we could do it ourselves. Time will tell.

Carefully, think throughyour decisions because what you decide now will impact how things turn out for you in the coming months and years.

OMG you can sooo do it on your own, you do not need a lawyer, I think some people are being a little over cautious, what I would do is gather all your info one by one, put all your pics together, write on them where they are, from beginning to present, put all your travel ie. boarding planes tickets, copies of passport, hotels where you stayed together, put all your texts, face time, what's app, phone records all at once together, do one thing at a time and it won't feel so overwhelming, label everything, that's all you really need as evidence, then you can do your forms later with up to date dates, and Visa Journey, will show you how to complete each form, don't forget to sign and date and Wow!!  you are done, just start putting things together now in a separate folder and it will all come together, yes it's like a big school project, promise, it's not hard, just sounds overwhelming, but you can sooooooooooo do it and it's so many people here to help you, PM me I've been through it all!!

What does "front load" mean?

I'm 9 years older and we are from different religions. :(  The other situations do not apply though...so I guess it could be worse.

We met when I was on holiday in Morocco in 2016 and hung out for 2 days.

Chatted everyday for 7 months, then we met up in Turkey for about 2 weeks.

Continued chatting everyday and I went back to morocco for another 2 weeks in Jan of this year.

Still not officially entheorums for high fraud country K1 visa applications?

you will need a lot more visits and face time with him   /  2 days is hardly enough for Casa embassy

K1 in morocco r hard to get

you will also need to see him in person within 2 years of the interview

this is the best place for learing  the process and about passing an interview in a high fraud country

a lawyer can not speed the process and do much to help/ u have to provide them with all the documents and all they do is mail it in

K1 here! and for Sure if i should have the opportunity again we would choose CR1 since K1 is taking 8-10 Months, more expensive and After i was on vacation in my fiancee house(the petitioner) and he has to work 3 days  during my stay .....i stayed at home  and believe i was getting crazy, nothing to see on netflix, waiting for him for lunch and when he get off .... :/ After that AOS more money, more wait, another interview! if K1 continues with those processing times for my opinion is not worth it Anymore...

So here there are a lot of information! Take ur time, read and make the decision together!

Good luck!

One thing you'll notice is the government ran website for the petition is short on certain details you need in the petiion

Me? I simply used google and sites like visa journey to fill out the petition, wasn't overwhelming as long as you go over each section multiple times.

Where do you get 2 days? She states in a follow up post that she met him the first time for 2 days on a visit. She's been back to visit him twice for 2 weeks each.

This is not the thread to be asking but here is a link for your embassy information in your country.

Exacto, hay una clínica por la zarasota que la ponen gratis o en operativos médicos, si tienes tu tarjeta de vacunación también serviría... Pero como te menciono nuestro compañero en el subforum de ES puedes encontrar esa información.
