Afternoon,

My name is Alex and I sent my application back on Dec 9th , received my NOA1 12/14th   I am glad to hear things are moving along a little faster.  My Fiancé is Cuba which makes things a little complicated.   They now have to travel to the Bogota Embassy for interview.   Anyone else from Cuba waiting for their NOA2 in here?

Hi Alex,

I am also sponsoring a Cuban fiancé.  The indefinite closure of the US Embassy in Cuba sure has made things more stressful.  They actually announced just yesterday that the US Embassy in Colombia will no longer be processing the Cuban immigrant visas.  Instead we get to go to the US Embassy in Guyana, with interviews starting in June.  https://cu.usembassy.gov/update-immigrant-visa-processing-cuban-nationals/  I prefer this option because Guyana is much much smaller and seems more manageable.

There is a private FB group for the K1 Cuban finacé process, see this thread for how to get in the group.  There are many other couples going through the same thing, so having a support group is really helpful.  Best of luck to you!

Thanks LoveBird, I heard the news last night also.  Guyana makes more sense also because of the non- Visa requirements for Cubans.  Not perfect but makes more sense than Bogota, I heard the line of Cubans in the Bogota embassy in Havana was very long.   Thank you also for the FB link, i'll get there, every bit of information is helpful at this stage.

Hello!!  My fiance is also in Venezuela.  I also haven't been able to travel to Venezuela either so we meet in Aruba.  Our first trip was Jan 2017 and the 2nd trip was Feb 2018.  The borders are now shut between Venezuela and Aruba so at the last minute he had to fly to Panama and then Colombia to get to Aruba.  Thank God it worked out. I'll be following your journey and I wish you all the best (our NOA1 dates are similar).  I know how hard it is having your other half in Venezuela!  Hugs to you!!!!

Hi! I'm filing in the Caracas embassy too. I'm the beneficiary and it is comforting to see people going through the same journey, especially considering Venezuela's situation right now. It must be difficult to have your loved ones back there. I'm currently visiting my fiancé in the US and I'll go back home in May. We thought we would wait until receiving our NOA2 but doing long-distance is very hard for both of us.

Btw, I love Aruba! What a nice place to meet, better and warmer than the Rocky mountains

Today we are at day 100 and with the current speed of things I'd say we are over the hump people! Half our waitingtime is over. We can do this!

Finally into the triple digits aswell, I'm thankfull that school  + work is keeping me busy throughout of the day, otherwise I'd lose my mind with the waiting haha :D

Can't wait to see daily scans for our month, watching them for september/october is super exciting B-)
