  3. ~~ Topic moved from Progress Reports to Process & Procedures ~~ Yes.
  4. Hmm then I’m also not aware of what pre-registering is.
  5. I think what was meant here a pre-clearance port. There are a handful of airports around the world that have CBP pre clearance so you go through immigration there and when you arrive in the US, you arrive as a domestic flight because you already cleared Immigration. I went through pre clearance in Dublin many times.
  6. ~~ Topic moved from IR1/CR1 forum to Tourist visa forum as the question is about applying for a visitor visa ~~ There is no such thing as sponsoring someone for a tourist visa, regardless if they’re your spouse or other relative. The person just applies on their own and sees if they receive the visa. I suggest your read through this thread: I don’t think it’s possible for anyone to answer this question with certainty. She will have to apply to find out. They look for strong ties (i.e. a well established career) to home country to make a favorable decision, if there is lack of those plus a US citizen husband, chances are probably low.
  7. ~~ Topic moved from Process & Procedures to Progress Reports section where timelines/approvals/case status updates are posted ~~
  8. Three hijack posts removed from other threads. @renadxb do not insert your own questions in other members threads. That constitutes spamming and is a terms of service violation and puts your account at risk of administrative action. Stick to creating your own thread and asking questions that way. VJ Moderation

  13. No deadline, you can delay for however much you need as long as you maintain contact with NVC once a year (i.e. sending a message that you’re still interested in pursuing the visa, but need some more time - or something along those lines) to keep the case active.
  14. If they’re qualifying on income, bank account statements are optional/not needed.

  20. ~~ Related duplicate thread removed. Please do not start multiple threads asking same or related questions as that’s considered spamming. Keep all discussion in one place (here) ~~ There is no standard timeline, Administrative processing a bit of a black hole. Everyone has different experiences. Some waited days, others weeks or months and even years.
  21. Original divorce decrees are always required for the interview regardless of the fact that you have sent them to USCIS at the beginning of the process. Regarding police certificate, this is also written out on Department of State’s website for each country and should be checked when trying to obtain documents to satisfy the requirements. For Argentina it says specifically they want the one with the special exception: Procedure for Obtaining: Applicants in Argentina: The certificate can be obtained by scheduling an appointment online at https://www.argentina.gob.ar/justicia/reincidencia and paying the fee at a bank. When applying online, applicants must request a police record “con excepción al artículo 51 del Código Penal.” https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/Visa-Reciprocity-and-Civil-Documents-by-Country/Argentina.html Lastly, it’s also standard to bring updated income requirements to the interview. Im sorry to hear you had a frustrating experience but three out of four things could have been avoided had you done prior research especially here on VJ. To answer your question about what to do - get everything they have asked for. I don’t see any other alternatives.

  23. ~~ Topic moved from Process & Procedures to Progress Reports ~~ According to USCIS, for PD of Aug 9, 2022, that would be April 1, 2024. Your case is processing normally. The earliest you can submit questions is April 01, 2024. Please do not contact us before this date. We will notify you if we need any additional information. We appreciate your patience while we review your case. Processing times may change – return to this page regularly for updates. https://egov.uscis.gov/processing-times/
  24. In my view, that should be sufficient. I would also contact HR to furnish a formal employment letter outlying your position, when you started and how much is your annual salary. If you feel like thats not enough, then you fiancé should bring your mothers documents, and to answer your original question, yes I would bring supporting documents in addition to the tax return.
