  1. ~~ Topic moved from Bringing Family members of US citizens forum to Adjustment of Status (AOS) from work/student/tourist visas as this is AOS from a B2 case ~~ @Redro mentioned AP, not green card. You have to read and familiarize yourself with the guide provided by @Timona above as well as all the instructions to all the forms which can be found on USCIS.gov. This forum is DIY forum, while we are here to provide advice, the burden of doing reading and research is ultimately on you/your wife. You have to become an A student of the process and forms. If that seems too confusing and you feel like you need help, i strongly suggest you hire professional immigration help (after doing careful research on that too because we have seen very poor advice from attorneys here often).

  6. How is it ridiculous? Without meeting it’s a proxy marriage which is not recognized as a valid marriage. Immigrating someone to the US is a huge step, I think it’s only right for immigration to require for two people to actually meet in person before filing, whether for I-129f or I-130. Just because it’s an inconvenience does not mean it is ridiculous. After having an I-129f denied, I do not think you’re in a position to look for loopholes (which do not exist anyway).
  7. Consummation does not mean what you’re thinking. It just means showing you met in person after the ceremony. You do that by showing proof you physically met - same kind of evidence you would have included in your I-129f (passport, stamps, boarding passes, photos of you preferably in front of recognized landmarks). USCIS also stipulates to not send explicit photos.
  8. ~~ Two threads merged. Do not start multiple threads pertaining to either same or related topics; keep all further questions on I-134/joint sponsor in this thread only - VJ Moderation ~~

  11. You might want to bookmark this one instead so you can track when a new VB comes out and also see old ones! https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/legal/visa-law0/visa-bulletin.html That’s the million dollar question. It’s hard to predict movement and it can be stuck on one date for a very long time: - From September 2021 up until April 2023 the PD did not move and was 1 Dec 2014 - Then in May 2023 it finally moved to 14 Dec 2014 - August 2023 it did a good jump to 1 Jan 2015 but who knows how long it’ll be stuck there, hopefully not long
  12. Yes that’s the PD Your PD is not current yet per the Visa bulletin. https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/legal/visa-law0/visa-bulletin/2023/visa-bulletin-for-september-2023.html As you can see from Table A category F1, applicants with PD of 1 Jan 2015 or earlier can proceed to the next step
  13. ~~ Two threads on related topics merged. Please start only one thread per related topics ~~ ~~ Topic moved from General Immigration discussion to US Citizenship discussion ~~ Mod hat off: No, there isn’t Correct 3 year naturalization rule requires one to be both in marital union with a USC for 3 years AND be an LPR for 3 years with continuous residence
  14. ~~ Topic moved from Process & Procedures to Progress Reports ~~
  15. ~~ Topic moved to USCIS forum as the question is about a technical glitch with the USCIS website ~~ It could be related to the site maintenance USCIS was conducting: https://www.uscis.gov/newsroom/alerts/tools-outage I know they supposedly ended at 2am but maybe there are still after effects. I would wait and try again and also you might want to chat with an agent through EMMA.
  16. ~~ Topic moved from General Immigration discussion to US citizenship discussion ~~
