  1. Schengen countries won’t. They will require biometrics. I successfully received a Schengen visitor visa to the Netherlands during the summer. Took about 2.5 weeks and I applied at the VFS center in NYC.
  2. *** Topic moved from Progress Reports to Process & Procedures ***
  3. *** Topic moved to US Embassy & Consulate forum as the question is about about Madrid consulate interviews ***
  4. You’re confusing it with Removal of Conditions process. That’s when you receive an extension letter as the 2 year GC would be close to expiring when applying for ROC. The extension letter extends the expired GC by 48 months.
  5. You should search VJ for threads with similar situations. Coming across those is how I cane to know that often panel physicians require frequent testing. I just searched now and found this thread. They were not required to do interim testing, they were instructed to repeat the medical in a year.
  6. Off topic post removed. This thread is intended to focus on IL updates for Islamabad consulate and interview related questions (as posted on page 1). For any questions deviating from that, please start a thread in an appropriate forum. VJ Moderation
  7. You have not filed yet. How do you know it will go to CSC? It could go to any service center.
  8. Also, verbal approvals do not count as a true approval. I wish they would stop telling people you’re approved during the interview. Only when the status shows “Issued” is it truly approved and visa was printed.
  9. From my understanding, during that year he would have had to have regular drug tests and pass them to show he has been clean. Was it not the case?
  10. With the exception of K and L visas, coming to the US on a nonimmigrant visa with the intent to stay and adjust status is immigration fraud. So, the answer is no, it is not possible.
  11. From the department of state website under Passport section: The Department has determined that Somali passports are not valid for visa-issuance purposes. Most immigrant visa beneficiaries will not be required to present a passport under the various subsections of 22 CFR 42.2 and will be issued visas using Form DS-232 per 9 FAM 9 FAM 504.10-3(B)(2). Diversity visas for Somalis may require individual passport waivers per 22 CFR 42.2(g) and will be issued using Form DS-232 per 9 FAM 9 FAM 504.10-3(B)(2). Somali nonimmigrant visa beneficiaries, including K1 visa recipients, will also require a passport waiver per guidance in 9 FAM 9 FAM 403.9-6(B). https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/Visa-Reciprocity-and-Civil-Documents-by-Country/Somalia.html You should follow the consulate’s instructions.
  12. Currently it takes about 22 months from DQ date to getting an interview letter for Islamabad consulate for a spousal visa applicant.
  13. It has to come from you. The beneficiary will bring the form (I-134) and supporting docs to the interview
  14. We brought everything outlined in the interview letter. I wasn’t going to give them a chance to delay our case by not doing my part and bringing what was asked. The IO didn’t look at anything except our IDs (driver licenses) and my birth certificate along with a certified translation.
  15. *** Topic moved from Progress Reports to Process & Procedures ***
  16. *** Topic moved from DCF forum to CR1/IR1 forum - this not a DCF case ***
  17. Visas for spouses of GC holders are numerically limited each year. When did you file the I-130? You need to familiarize yourself with the visa bulletin which dictates when she will be eligible to proceed to the next step. F2A is the category for spouses of GC holders. Right now those who filed I-130 on or before 1 November 2019 (this is known as priory date - PD) are eligible to proceed to the next step. So all in all, the entire process would take 5 years give or take. I’m surprised your lawyer is not aware of this
  18. *** Topic moved from AOS K1 forum to General Immigration forum where I-90 topics are discussed ***
  19. A comment removed due to 1) user having his or new own thread. Please do not post duplicative queries and 2) this thread is ONLY for updates on receiving IL letters for London consulate, not about how to change the consulate or any other issues. Please stick to your already created thread. If you want to ask a specific member something, please send them a PM. Thanks. VJ Moderation
  20. Another thread merged. Any more new threads on this topic (RFE that you received) will result in admin action against your account for spamming. VJ Moderation The status may never update. I have seen that many times. It’s simply unreliable. As long as you have proof of delivery, you’re covered. The RFE screenshot from before instructs to mail, not upload
  21. She should have it then. For us, our tax preparer gave us copies after he did our taxes (it’s form 1040). W2 your employer mailed them to you or you can also find them on your employment portal.
  22. I don’t know what the RFE is asking for exactly but usually when submitting financial documents to USCIS they either ask for a full tax return accompanied by W2/schedules/etc OR just a tax return transcript. You have to make a decision if you want to send just the tax return transcripts or if you want to send exactly what the RFE is asking for. I see what you mean. If you want to give them exactly what they’re asking for then forget any transcripts; you have to submit full tax returns you submitted to the IRS back when you did your taxes along with any W2s/schedules/etc.
  23. Just the tax return transcript. Nothing more. W2s are required if you’re submitting a full tax return (not transcript but full return you sent off to IRS when you did your taxes). If that’s what you want to send, you can do that but that will be a lot of pages. Then you’ll have to include W2s and/or any schedules.
