  1. Why would you have to redo them? You can send them tonight if you want to. There is absolutely no need to wait to get an SSN to fill out and send the forms. SSN is not required for AOS. Don’t take it the wrong way but there seems to be lack of research from your side. We’re trying to help you. I can’t remember how many threads I’ve seen over the years of people regretting not getting a SSN when they had the chance. Knowing the pain of not having an SSN in America, I would do anything in my power to apply for one tomorrow.
  2. You need go first thing in the morning tomorrow to an SSA office and apply. K1 arrivals are eligible for an SSN if they apply within 75 days of the 90 days. In some cases, even if you apply before but close, if you’re past day 75 while they’re processing it, they will not issue it. You’re cutting it kinda close. You will not be able to get an SSN while AOS & I-765 are pending. You will only be able to get an SSN AFTER they’re approved and you will need the actual card when applying in person. This comes up a lot, at least a few times a month. This was the most recent one:
  3. It’s like you read my mind because I was wondering what happens if an ambulance or fire fighter truck comes across a school bus with flashing lights and stop sign out.
  4. The thing is that NYS passed a law that allows school buses to have cameras. When you pass by when it has stop signs out, you’ll most certainly get a ticket in the mail. You can even see the video of your offense online I must admit it’s a pretty effective policy. I’m more careful now around school buses
  5. I’m also in NY and school buses make me nervous cause of the fine. My brother in law got a fine in the mail few months ago and it was $300 (ouch). But to address you point, this won’t cause issues with your LPR status. At least as far as I know it’s not a crime involving moral turpitude (CIMT).
  6. I really wouldn’t, not this late in the process when the card is about to be mailed. It takes a while for them to register it and a lot of times it still goes to the old address
  7. Out of the 90 days that K1s get after entry, how many days has it been?
  8. Whether or not you end up having a joint petition or a divorce waiver, USCIS will want to see evidence of bonafide marriage and the evidence you provided is not convincing, at least from USCIS perspective. Is that really all you have? What about joint bank accounts, joint credit cards, joint tax returns..?
  9. Some more updates: 11/30: delivered to Elgin lockbox 12/4: got a text message with case # 12/5: checks cashed 12/7: can see receipt notice/extension letter with the NOA1 of 11/30 and biometric reuse notice on the online account I have Nebraska Service Center. Will update when I will receive physical letters.
  10. That’s interesting! First year I came we used tax credits for my insurance premium so that was reflected on the tax transcript and last year my husband had a lot of W2s due to job switches. This upcoming year it will be a very simple return with just one type of W2 for each of us and no tax credits. I will let you know how long it'll be! I’m curious too.
  11. *** Topic moved from AOS forum to Tourist Visa forum as the question is about a US tourist visa *** Here is what the US Department of State is saying regarding a valid tourist visa in an expired passport: “If your visa is still valid you can travel to the United States with your two passports, as long as the visa is valid, not damaged, and is the appropriate type of visa required for your principal purpose of travel. (Example: tourist visa, when your principal purpose of travel is tourism). Both passports (the valid and the expired one with the visa) should be from the same country. When you arrive at the U.S. port-of-entry (POE, generally an airport or land border) the Customs and Border Protection Immigration Officer will check your visa in the old passport and if s/he decides to admit you into the United States they will stamp your new passport with an admission stamp along with the annotation "VIOPP" (visa in other passport). Do not try to remove the visa from your old passport and stick it into the new valid passport. If you do so, your visa will no longer be valid.” https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/visa-information-resources/frequently-asked-questions/about-basics.html Last time, even though he was admitted as a citizen of Mexico as you say, he had a valid Peruvian passport too. I think that was what led to him being admitted to the US.
  12. Ours were 8-9 pages long for each year. I though it’ll be a shorter document too
  13. You should read trough the London consulate page here. A lot of useful info on next steps and documents: https://www.visajourney.com/consulates/index.php?ctry=United Kingdom&cty=London

  16. He needs to create a USCIS account the regular way by clicking “Sign up”. Once he gets the online access code, there’s an option under “my account” to add a paper filed case: https://www.uscis.gov/file-online/how-to-create-a-uscis-online-account As @OldUser said, it can take a while to see the letter but if it takes too long , try getting an access code through Emma. You don’t need the account number for this. Just request to chat to an agent.
  17. No, I-130 is not needed if married within the 90 days. However, with the case pending for 7 years, maybe the lawyer knows something we don’t. If I were you I’d get a second and third opinion from reputable attorneys.
  18. IOE cases are stored online rather than having to order a physical file from the underground archive USCIS has when the time comes to adjudicate it. That way it’s easier for an IO to look through it. It still gets assigned to a service center and a field office if you get an interview. Access code usually comes as a separate letter. If it doesn’t come, you can request it through Emma. It sounds like you’re the US citizen spouse. You can’t add it to your account because you’re not the petitioner in a ROC case - the LPR spouse is the petitioner. He or she gets assigned an USCIS online account number which will be accessed with an online access code. The case is already linked to it and there you can see notices and also you can upload any additional evidence (in the unsolicited evidence tab).
  19. Yes, Case is on hold until RFE is resolved. Once they receive it, they'll continue where they left off.
  20. *** Topic moved from Progress Reports to US Citizenship Process & Procedures ***

  23. Oh I see. Utah zoom marriage would have avoided all these issues and the marriage certificate would be US based issued by Utah county. Will do that now. ***Topic moved to the Regional forum: Asia East & Pacific as the question is about marriage requirements in Cambodia ***
