El Escocés got a reaction from Visitor User in Starting the N-400 application online. Why type of Tax Transcript needed?
When you log into the IRS system, you are presented with a "Get Transcript" screen and a drop down for you to select options.
Select "Immigration" hit go and you will be presented with the appropriate return

I have never completed a DS-260. However reviewing the questions, it asks

    - Have you ever used other names (i.e., maiden, religious, professional, alias, etc.)?
    - Do you hold or have you held a nationality other than the one you have indicated above?

How did you answer these ones? Assuming you did not?

I'm guessing when an application asks the applicant for several important pieces of information that were not declared, then simply completing a new application with all the important information after the fact would not give me, as an immigration officer good vibes about who is sitting in front of me. Good luck on your journey.

El Escocés got a reaction from STO Overland in N-400 Application - question on travel outside the US
Although I applied via 3-years marriage, I added 5-years worth of travel - just so I completed against the question asked "Have you taken a trip outside of the United States in the last 5 years?".
I ended up confusing the AO at yesterday's interview "but you are applying under the 3 year law...why did you add 5 years worth of travel. Okay let's go through all of them and then delete what we don't need"

Hey Folks... long story short: I was approved and by the time I had exited the office and was in my car, the system was already changed to "Oath Ceremony will be scheduled." .

Long story: I live in the other side of the city from the USCIS office and my interview was scheduled for 840 in the morning. However! I arrived there at 720 😀 as I knew from my normal pre-covid morning commute up the beltway to my workplace, arrival time could be unpredictable if I had decided to leave home any later than I did. No biggy, I just sat in my car, people watched and looked at emails until closer to 8am.

I went to the front door and the guard standing outside was checking interview slips before letting folks into the building. Inside there were maybe 30-40 people. Most were there with spouses and / or lawyers. Very few of us were by ourselves and I will assume that all us single folks were there for our N400 interviews.

At check in they give you a number Pxx or Kxx and tell you to wait until you hear your number being called.  Masks were mandatory.  I was dressed in business casual. Some folks were there in t-shirts and jeans.

840 comes around; nothing. I'm not sweating it - it took 30 mins past my AOS interview to be called so I was expecting a delay. But, it is now 920 and people who had come in after me were being called and I started to wonder if maybe I missed my number being called. By now, the office was really buzzing with more people coming in.

Finally at 940 I heard my number. The officer was all apologetic about the delay and mentioned that I was to be her second interview and her previous one did not go as planned hence the delay to seeing me. I followed her to her office where she asked me to swear under oath that everything, I was about to say was the truth.  She took my fingerprints and a picture. And gave me a little bit of hard time about how long it took for me to apply for my GC (married 12 years before applying for AOS in 2017). She really wanted to know the entire story

Anyway, we went through the civics test

    1.    What is the economic system in the United States?

Then…the computer system went down. Would you believe it…She was so apologetic, explaining that the system would not allow her to save my answer. Then the system shut down completely and she called someone to come help. From their discussions, it was suggested that I could be there a long time and every thing might have to be done by hand and uploaded to the system after the end of the day…I felt real bad for her.

Eventually…maybe 10-15 minutes later, the system was back up and we were able to continue.

    3.    If the President can no longer serve, who becomes President?

    6.    What is the name of the Speaker of the House of Representatives now?

    Reading: Who votes for Congress
Writing: The people votes for Congress

Next was the yes / no questions from your N400. This is a chance to update anything was submitted wrongly. I was asked about my citations (speeding tickets in 2003 and 2016) and whether I had received any since submitting my application. At the end she said she was approving me for naturalization however she warned me that I was not yet an US Citizen and I should not state that I was until after the oath. She also mentioned that I should make sure that I do not receive any citations between now and the oath as they would pull me out of the oath ceremony if there were any outstanding legal matters.

Overall despite the hiccups with the system which caused some nerves in me, the experience was pleasant.

I believe you’re in Houston right?

What I did was drop off  my application and passport at the local SS office..about a week later, my passport was sent back to me via UPS overnight mail. As others have stated there is no rush to update your SS. I just didn’t wanted to be done with everything.

I then went to the Richmond Mega Center to update my drivers license.  They actually told me that since I had updated it after my green card and still had a more than a couple  of years validity on my drivers license, there was no requirement to update it and to just wait until it was time to actually renew the drivers license. However since I was there, they updated my record anyway.

The only advantage was that I would, as a US citizen, be able to renew the license online as opposed to in person. I will test that out in a couple of months as Texas allows you to renew drivers licenses within two years of expiry.

It was in the policy manual to say that there is no 90-day rule for USCIS.  Here is what the manual actually said before the reference was removed -- "The U.S Department of State’s 90-Day Rule [...]  This DOS 90-day rule is not binding on USCIS."  https://web.archive.org/web/20190423205101/https://www.uscis.gov/policy-manual/volume-8-part-j-chapter-3

Worry and focus on the kids first. Dad can wait and has to wait.

Assuming the kids are the lawful children of the mother, they are now USA citizens. Starting with the oldest child, and working her way down to the youngest child, she should file for their US passport and passport cards.

Then once they have their US passport and passport cards, she can file N-600 forms for each kid at the same time to get each a certificate of citizenship (like a certificate of naturalization but different) which can be essential for certain purposes such as a federal security cleance or petitioning a alien for an immigration benefit.

I imagine this will take several years as passports take 6 months, and N-600 cases 1-2 years.

Dad can go to https://www.uscis.gov/citizenship-resource-center/learn-about-citizenship/naturalization-eligibility to check his eligibility, which should be 3 years from Mom's naturalization date.

I am a contrarian.  My n-400 interview was on the basis of being married 5 years.  Since I had a divorce from the petitioner I had to bring proof of bonafide marriage.  The IO was satisfied with the birth certificates of the children we had together.

    Update: Guys”
I gathered all documents that was requested stated on the RFE letter. I had two option.

1)option was to upload and submit all  documents requested, on my USCIS account.

2)option was to mail all documents requested, to the address, listed on the RFE letter.

    I chose option 2.
After sending documents. i did not received a notice saying they had received the documents. So, I  waited, and hoping for the best. I kept checking my USCIS account to see if there were any changes, it was kind a nail biting. Lol!

Anyway” I got the best news! right before thanksgiving, saying: they had made a determination, and they had scheduled a interview. I was so happy!

my interview was on Saturday, 12/07/2021. at 7:am. When I went to the interview I had to take my green card, appointment notice, a pen. And wear a mask. There’s a questionnaire on the back of the notice letter, which I filled out prior to the interview.

the ceremony was short, powerful, and sweet” it lasted for like five minutes.  I had 42 people in my group. Ceremony was in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. after the oath ceremony, they said to check to see if everything was correct on the certificate. Then we can leave. and that was it.
And now I am an American citizen!😊🇺🇸

    Thank y’all!
And good luck on y’all  immigration journey.

My suggestion is to speak to the State registrar to have your name removed from the voting list right away.

I assume you have never attempted to vote? How did you find out you were registered? Did you register yourself? These are maybe the kind of the questions that you could be asked (or not) but you have to remove yourself from the registry asap.

This website states it pretty clearly:
    https://www.alllaw.com/articles/nolo/us-immigration/why-children-must-remain-unmarried-until-green-card-approval.html

Unmarried children beware. If you are the unmarried son or daughter of a permanent resident or a U.S. citizen, and you plan to immigrate to the United States as that person's beneficiary, you must not marry before you complete the process of getting a green card (U.S. lawful permanent residence).

I don't see there's another option here except for him to enter the US first as unmarried (just like his visa category specifies), activate his LPR status and then get married later after that. They can marry in Russia, the US, a third country...doesn't matter where as long as he does it after entering the US as unmarried and activates his LPR status.
