We had our interview today and were approved. Many thanks to @Greenbaum and the rest of the VisaJourney community. I never would felt comfortable doing the paperwork on our own without everyone's help!

They don’t care where you get married, as long as it’s in USA and legal and before 90 days

Russ&MaryAnn reacted to Mrs Ryan Carreras in New Healthcare Requirements for US Immigrants
My two cents -
I think this is amazing and will help USC and everyone coming over.
I have posted a few times on this. Im not a supporter of either side but worked in healthcare for 7 plus years.
Why would this be negative? My daughter is a USC just born and most insurance companies have a 30 day open window to add someone for the following reasons
1. Birth
2. Death
3. Loss of coverage
4. Marriage
That window closes after 30 days on almost all health plans and than you must wait for open enrollment.
I just added my daughter with no social security and Ryan will be added too.
A social security number is not needed until one is issued by the the US.
It takes upwards of 5 weeks sometimes for just a newborns so this is common practice for HR already and can easily applied to anyone adjusting status as well.
I’m not sure people understand how catastrophic it can be if someone lands in the ER in the United States with no coverage.
I say this as I’ve seen it first hand and
”literally” no insurance can send you and your spouse into bankruptcy very quick and that wonderful new marriage into some major conflict.
The only issue or maybe upside is it will force us all to be married on K1 very quickly to add the spouse but we should be doing that anyway IMO.
I read the article but did it say when this actually will be implemented and at what stage we show this information?

It won’t hurt to have a small sample of the chat logs. Better to have extra things instead of not enough

Russ&MaryAnn got a reaction from Loren Y in New AOS rules started 10/01/2019 Hosed us at the interview today.
Yeah that’s very unprofessional. Seems like they would have at least known the hours of the translation service. Or even better use a service that has working hours to accommodate all US time zones. This process is so trying

Russ&MaryAnn reacted to DaveAndAnastasia in K-1
The "wait two weeks" recommendation is outdated. All records are electronic now; it's almost certain that if you need manual verification two days after POE, you still will two weeks after POE.
We went two days after POE; no manual verification needed, card arrived within two weeks.

I use google flights to search. It has a nice date feature, allowing you to easily view what dates are cheaper. Then book directly on the airlines website

Russ&MaryAnn reacted to nharris3428 in Passport with visa is missing!!!!!!
Thank you very much! He finally got his visa yesterday after much pain and suffering with back-and-forth between the embassy and Aramex. We double checked the visa and everything is correct thank God! His flight is scheduled for October 17 to fly in to Los Angeles and I am over the moon excited. Thank you for all your help 🙂 I may hit you up with some questions after he gets here if you don’t mind

You should be ok. I would guess a couple of weeks at most. Could be quicker. I’d try calling them and ask what to do.

Russ&MaryAnn got a reaction from Jen27062019 in K1 FIANCE VISA APPLICATION RECEIVED BY USCIS ON THE 12TH OF SEPT. 2019
It varies. Some as quick as 5-6 months. Others much longer. Hard to predict, certain situations do cause longer delays.
