W.Rominger got a reaction from Dhilman2 in RapidVisa filing services. Is the company legitimate and worth the effort?
I hired an immigration attorney, also because my fiance is busy with work and thought hiring someone to do so would be easier
and guess what? you still need to gather every documents by urself
the only thing the attorney, and her legal assistant, does is to ask more details of everything ( more pic for proof of relation, more details for financial support)
we did had our application approved in one go, thanks to the attorney (maybe)
but before that, my fiance had to stop by their office almost every week, to drop off more file they found needed. and when they finally decided they had everything, they ask if we want to use express service or USPS.
we paid over 2000 for the attorney, and the fee doesnt cover delivery fee!

It was a livestream teleconference on YouTube put together by USCIS Dept of Public Engagement.  I clicked on the link again and it said the video was private. I stumbled upon the conference while looking for any updates for ASC opening on USCIS.gov.

Here is the link to the Public Engagement in case there are any new events: https://www.uscis.gov/outreach/upcoming-national-engagements

They mentioned something about putting the slides they had up on the website after the teleconference, but a quick search I couldn't find them. Check back here for when they do post them: https://www.uscis.gov/outreach/notes-previous-engagements

the officer answered my call told me that the office remain close till 22nd June. no reschedule will be issue before that.. so i guess we will only start to receive notice after the 22nd.
i was also told to wait at least 60 days to call and ask for update my RFE. He was nice enough to count for me that its16 days left to wait....

nah~ they would not cxl anything. mine was scheduled 18th March and so far NOTHING came to my mail or txt.
if you are lucky, they might open office from 2nd April and you would be the 1st one to have it done 😉

Yeah don't worry my wife's biometrics were scheduled on March 24th. We literally went in on Tuesday the 17th because we were in the area (unknowing they would close down everything on the 18th), and they told us they don't take walk-ins anymore. We are kind pissed they didn't just let us do it, seeing as the center was empty when we walked in. But in light of whats going on, can't say we didn't try. Guess we are all hunkered down together.

I wouldn’t stress about it if I were you. I think you’ll get a confirmation in about a week (assuming you’ve filed G-1145 with it), but some people had to wait up till a month to hear anything about it.

Meanwhile try to find a distraction.

Just be patient. Give it about 14 days after receipt before you start inquiring lockbox support.

Just apply for the EAD in the AOS package.   With it you can work and get a SSN.   Once the green card arrives you no longer use the EAD.   Your Visa expiration date no longer matters.

I am not following the timeline, exam in September 2019, wedding prior to end of December 2019, why would you wait another three months to file the AOS?  Regardless, the medical results from a K1 are good for 12 months.  You most likely do not have a full copy of the I693 so you won’t have anything to take to the AOS interview, but you should have a copy of the DS3025 vaccination record which you will include with the AOS package.  The medical exam results should be transferred from your POE to your local office.

    Good Luck!

I believe that there has been an increase in allocation of manpower by DHS to USCIS, that has resulted in a perceived faster processing of K1 visas. I haven't really seen a big uptick in AOS/ROC/USC approvals. Not certain if the increased manpower was also projected to the DOS. All of these visa processes are akin to a very large river with any number of large dams that control the water flow. The dams that are under USCIS control may be running at a higher efficiency. However, the dams control by DOS may not have benefited from increased manpower. Let's take what we can get.......

You should go ahead and file your application. At the adittional I for section 8...explain clearly what the discrepancy is on your I-94 and attached you current I-94 and travel history. USCIS won't deny your petition because of mistakes you didn't make but they will deny it if they sense fraud. It's no news that I-94 is not super accurate and they know it.

Like service, it varies with the attorney.    My Attorney charged me $4500.  (later I realized.. errr why so high).
She did make a few mistakes like beneficiary country is a province, a field left unchecked in I-134 etc.
But the value she provided was more of front loading the USCIS part.  My wedding package was about 40 pages, way beyond the 2 signed letters.   Relationship proof was 9 trips at submission with photos tickets itinerary receipts etc.
My Law brushes certified copies were checked by her, but the most important part was she was able to explain to my beneficiary in mandarin what to do, what to expect in Guangzhou China, and dry run Q&A.

Worth it or not? I am not sure.  but we have no RFE, now P3 phase.

We used an attorney (not your attorney) for my wife's CR-1.  In my opinion, they failed to send some documents, and provided us with inaccurate information which delayed our case by several months.  As a result, our case was at NVC for 23 weeks.........We did not use an attorney for her ROC.

We put our passport pictures in plastic ziplock bags. For the other photos of us together, we printed them at Walmart and then just clipped them together with a paperclip and then attached them to the other additional evidence we provided with a binder clip (phone logs, conversations etc.). What you said sounds fine, I just would advise against the plastic inserts!

W.Rominger got a reaction from Elif_and_Greg in Vaccination Requirement and their costs
My mum keeps all vaccine record for me, but at the exam, doc told me not to bother showing him. they would withdraw blood samples and test if i have antibody since some shots only work for 10 years.
Since K1 is not an immigrant VISA, vaccine record is not a requirement for entering the US, but you would have to get all shots done before getting green card. and its always much cheaper to get those shots in Taiwan than in the US.
The MMR cost around 20USD , Tdab is around 70USD

same here, and i even told the interviewer , way too honestly, that the wedding fund my parents prepare would go into my bank account
tbh i had the same concern after i said that, and couldnt sleep for 2 nights for that. but hey~ i got mine approved.
i think the key is to be honest and do not try to hide anything from them.
