It was pretty difficult to Interpret it as anything other than “if we lie will we have a better chance of getting a visa”.

hopefully you understand now what you risk by lying.

by the way, Pakistan has a 48% refusal rate for B visas, so be prepared the outcome may not be what you want it to be.

And even harder if the law abiding individual is caught lying at her interview.

Just seen your other post asking if it's ok to say she will stay for 3 weeks but actually stay for 3 months.

That shows you have no respect for the US, are desperate to get her to come under any circumstances, and dont deserve to have her approved. Hope she is denied.

She has the visa so she has done the hard part.

No harm in being prepared though. I took all the documents that I took to the interview (letter from employer saying when I am due back, payslips, contract) the first time I travelled on my B2. Was I ever asked for any of them, during the interview or at the POE? No.

I didn't bother taking them for subsequent visits (I travelled to the US every 6-8 weeks), never had any problems what so ever.

Can't tell you how many times we have heard this on VJ. This is why the assumption is that the decision is 99% made prior to the interview.

Can't help but to be skeptical about this. Not saying it didn't happen, but there has to be more to the story.

One thing I have notice is that the people who get the most upset over visitor visa denials are the ones who have compared visa approvals to others they have heard of or witnessed. They speak about their denials then immediate reference a friend, family member, or someone else that got approved.

There is a lot of talk about how the US government denies visas with no rhyme nor reason. USA issued nearly 6 million new B1/B2 visas last year and is averaging around 6mil per year
    https://travel.state.gov/content/dam/visas/Statistics/AnnualReports/FY2018AnnualReport/FY18AnnualReport - TableXVIB.pdf

Since 2014, the US gave out a total of 32 million new visitor visas. That is almost 10% of our country's population in visas in just 4 years.

I akin it to a hot and popular night club in a big city. Everybody wants to get in, but obviously for safety and security reasons the club can't let everyone in all at once. So there will be a few that has to wait outside in line. I see why people get upset at visitor visa denials. They kinda take it personal. But I honestly think that there are just too many people applying and there may be some system or algorithm that keeps the visa issuances at controllable levels. But that is just my theory. (aluminum foil hat off now).

    @didi&bebe
If you take anything away from this thread the following quote should  give you the most thought...
If you think about it, your family has been successful in getting visas. This is a higher percentage of approvals  for family than most people here on this forum. A person should never expect to get a visa because a visa to the US is a privilege, not a right and it is never guaranteed.

Hopefully, he can apply again and be granted a visa. Good luck with your wedding.

So first it was a friend suggested to visit the USA, then it's for tourist purposes, then it's to attend a conference.

Yea right. You are clearly not a genuine tourist and are just looking for any way to enter the USA.

You will most likely be denied and rightly so.

You are not a genuine tourist so save your money and do not apply for a B2.

You have never traveled outside of Nigeria before? That is a very very big red flag and the reason you were denied.

Travel to other countries where you need a visa first to show you are not just looking for a country to move to to live as that is what you come across as doing by default.

ElDiablo got a reaction from SalishSea in Can b2 Visa be revoked if child applys after parent is approved?
The B2 certainly can be revoked when the child applies.

From the scenario you have posted it is highly likely it will be revoked as the B2 was basically obtained by deception by declaring she was the only traveller but really wanted to travel with the child and 'played' the system.

It was a really bad idea.
