Why do you need a lawyer?  Unless you have a complicated case, you can do it.

First, going with that bank account idea, she will get 100% DENIED because they will see it as deceptive.

I don't think she needs trickery.  At her age, unless she has any kind of history of illegal immigration/deportation/etc, she should get approved for a tourist visa.

Spell it out for them in simple terms.

    Write a timeline like this:

On May 7, 2005 petitioner David Smith married Mary Jones.

On July 21, 2013 the marriage between petitioner David Smith and Mary Jones was lawfully terminated. See enclosed divorce decree.

On September 7, 2017 petitioner David Smith married beneficiary Jane Doe. This is the beneficiary’s first and only marriage. See enclosed marriage certificate.

Hi everyone!!!! My husbands I-130 has been approved!!!! It only took 342 from the Nebraska Service Center! I’m very thankfully and it took a lot of patience. I’m hoping the NVC part speeds up lol. Just wanted to share my wait. If you want you are free to reply with your wait time and where you are with the process!

Age alone will not get you denied. Focus your energy on documenting your on going relationship as that's what matters most. 10 years is also not much.

Received the NVC case number today. 34 days to get NVC case number after they received. Was lucky enough to be able to log onto CEAC and pay both AOS and IV fees today as well.
One small step forward. Amazing how good it feels to just get a case number!

8 weeks is the standard answer. None of us imagined waiting for a case number...believe me. I was looking at other people and I was estimating about 5 weeks as similar profiles and hoping for this week. It happened. Keep strong and keep carrying on!!!

It means you'll be uploading your documents online instead of mailing them in. It's much faster! As soon as you get your case and invoice number you should be able to access it, pay the fees, and get started after the payments clear. After uploading documents and filling out the DS-260 VJ'ers are reporting anywhere from 5 days to around 2 weeks for documentary approval. Took mine 2 weeks.

USCIS does NOT ask for letters of support.  "Affidavits" are simply on a list of possible evidence you could submit, but they really do carry little weight.  Concentrate on evidence of time spent together in person, and examples of how an how frequently you communicate.

SMcC got a reaction from Ksenia_O in Birth city has changed name
I received a phone call back from USCIS and spoke with an officer. He stated that I should put the name of the city listed on the Birth Certificate on the form and then put the some information, such as an article or other document, that states the name official name change and attach it to the form. He was fairly adamant about this. I found a Wikipedia article that had the exact date when the city changed it's name and attached it to the forms.
Seems like a lot of hassle for something that should be common sense, but they apparently don't want to be in the position of "figuring it out".

Varying opinions on this but I agree with the officer you spoke to on the "misinformation line".  For example, many people from a number of countries were born in the USSR.  That is where they were born.  For example a 40 year old born in Kiev, USSR, might now live in Kiev Ukraine.  USCIS understands this.  No need for an updated birth certificate.  Not sure if it would say anything different, in that example.

I used to work as a volunteer for a citizenship clinic and case across similar scenarios in relation to discrepancies.  However, I have never seen a city change names.  But, we were advised to always list what's on the legal document.

USCIS will likely cross-verify all information in the application with the legal documentation.  They simply want to ensure that the documentation provided is legitimate and likely do not care what the city's name is.

    I hope this helps!
